Ok, so that makes sense then. Get Evans and Nibs back and let a non threatening break fight it out for the stage while retaining control of the bunch.0
-
Cant help thinking if Luis Leon Sanchez lost some weight and was in a decent team he could maybe go for a grand tour...he`s a strong rider and very "Indurainesque" in height/build ??? or should i just get back to making a cup of tea 8)0

Gadhri back in the peloton and leading it now with a Radioshack rider
sky lined up as numbers 3-6 in the peloton...0 -
Navarro gone for a long effort off the front of the leaders...
just 8kms left and the other riders in the lead group all starting to look around at each other already0 -
'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0
-
3kms out and Vichot (FDJ) with a reasonable lead from the other riders in the lead group now...0
-
Come on FDJ!!!0
-
He has 24 seconds with 1200m to go0

Allez Arthur. Chapeau! It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0

Wiggins safely in the peloton 1min later...
a good break and stage win from Vichot.0 -
Has Andy Schleck finished yet?0
-
First big (well, big-ish) win for him.
Bit of a waste of a big mountain. Again.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -

13 minutes behind Wiggins. 14 off the leader.0 -
So is Andy going to rip it up on Joux Plane tomorrow?0

well, that's the plan(e) apparently.....
*leaves*
But even if he does what will that prove exactly? He's now so far down on GC that no-one will care, no-one will bother chasing him, so it would be a hollow victory at best.0 -

S'a bit rich.
D'ya say that about today's winner too? That it's a hollow victory?0 -
Difference is people dont expect Vichot to be a Tour winner. Or even close.
I agree with rob somewhat although a good showing will give him some pride and not make the competitors complacent about him (although this could be a good thing).Contador is the Greatest0 -

It's a bit different though, you're the best climber who's able to race, you'd be expected to do well on such a stage as tomorrow - although it's not a MTF so not necessarily ideal. Being over 29minutes down so no-one bothers chasing makes it a bit sort of easy doesn't it? It's a bit like the Elite racer turning up to the local crit and celebrating the win.
Of course - he's right to go for the win, both for the wins sake, and to test himself, but it's not in the same class as Vichot today. He may well also get Martin and maybe even Sanchez going with him to make it a bit fairer race. Of course Evans or Nibali or someone could try to really go for it, but I think that's unlikely.Jibbering Sports Stuff: http://jibbering.com/sports/0 -

He could do a Super Pantani and take 15 mins out of Brad & Cadel
Yes, I think this is the most likely thing to happen!0 -

I know, but it'd be cool as **** if he did!0 -
It would be amazing. Especially if he got enough time to put himself in the top 3...
.......And then finished 20 minutes behind in the final stage.0 -
Early start today and Andy Schleck dropped on the first climb of the day.0
-
Gilbert was dropped even before Schleck was. Schleck was dropped together with Vino and Peraud.
But Peraud got back first, then Schleck and Gilbert before the second climb.0
