He only really won the Tour of Poland, the Tour of Austria and the Eneco Tour - chippers. He only managed to do half the Tour de France after the Tour of Russia (which him and Stalin had laughingly called the 'Peace Race' ) really took it out of him.

Napoleon on the other hand - Tour, Giro, Vuelta - the full set. That's heavyweight palmares.

Hannibal had tougher competition in the Alps and Pyrenees though.

Was Napoleon really good, or was the opposition just really poor?

He had to ride much heavier equipment, too. Huge single gear things with an enormous bidon hanging off the handlebars. And what those weird curved aerobars were for, I'll never know.

This thread has more pages than any thread on the past 10 pages other than Roubaix Spoiler (19) and one PTP thread. Impressive. He sure creates some opinion.

    Thank you...thank you...

My guess is this will stop once one of them wins the Tour. So 2013?

Is Andy a climbing specialist? Pantani was and he hammered the other riders to the top. AS 'attacked' on the Galibier but on AdH the next day he's asking Evans to chase down Contador. Pantani et al would have sought no help but just attacked. Someone jog my memory where Schleck actually attacked and rode off leaving the others for dead. Armstrong when he gave Ullrich 'the look' or blasted past Kloden on the line in Grand Bornand. Pantani on Les Deux Alpes stuff. And when did Evans become an attacking force? Numerous forum experts on BR have criticized him for being a wheel-sucker for the last 6 years.

Evans came an attacking rider when riders stopped having blood as thick as Pantani's

I know it's an inconvenient truth for many, but Pantani was one of the biggest cheats this sport has ever seen.

Indeed. And Cadel has always been one for attacking. His first Tour

    http://autobus.cyclingnews.com/road/200 ... s/tour0516

and then a couple of days later Armstrong bitched when Cadel actually sprinted for the line

    http://autobus.cyclingnews.com/road/200 ... s/tour0518

That 2005 Tour was so skanky, it was like Lindsay Lohan and Jordan both lost all of their morals.

"I am delighted to get this after my disappointment the other day," said Pereiro, his dark brown eyes and big, friendly smile gleaming in the afternoon sun.

Bang on. As Iain said on another thread, it must wreck Evans' head knowing what he could have achieved had he not been the victim of a doping arms race.
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

He's pretty balanced though. I'm sure he had the choice, and he chose not to. Good for him. I'd guess that's easier to live with than having done it the other way - though I'm not in a position to find out either way.

Well, that settles it once and for all. What a stunning performance from Andy today. The way he sped away from the peleton half way up the Joux plane was reminiscent of Coppi at his very best. And the descending...wow! Have you ever seen so many camera bikes having to pull over to make way for a rider? Wow! And the wheely at the summit of the Joux Plane! Cor! Very cool the way he jumped off his bike to sign a few autographs at the summit before putting on his gilet... such chutzpa! I thought that the addition of a horn on his handlebars was a nice touch - he certainly gave that comissaire a startle with his "Parp parp" on the decent into Morzine (I do hope they'll be able to find the comissaire's car in that ravine... he really shouldn't have got in Andy's way though). The bunny hop over the line was pure class, but I did think the moonie to reveal the tatoo of "Twiggo and Evans suck on this!" was a little tasteless, and certainly beneath him. So Andy now leads by over 25 mins... my hero!

    OR...

Well, that settles it once and for all. What a pathetic performance from that weasle Shluck today. The way he fell back from the peleton half way up the Joux plane was reminiscent of Cav at his very worst. And the descending...ugh! Have you ever seen so many camera bikes having to slow down to stay wth for a rider? Tut! And the vomit at the summit of the Joux Plane! Yuk! Very poor the way he jumped off his bike to have a quick cuddle with his mummy at the summit before putting on his knee pads... such a klutz! I thought that the addition of the stabilisers on his bke was a nice touch by the mechanics - he certainly gave that comissaire a startle with his "Parp parp" on the decent into Morzine (I do hope they'll be able to get the stains out of his chamois over night). The clenching of the sngle fist as he crossed over the line was pure Tim Henman, but I did think the moonie to reveal the tatoo of "Follow me Frankie!" was very revealing. So Andy now trails by over 3 days... my hero!

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

Why is he even on the roster if he doesn't have top form yet Jacob F. does? RSNT sucks! And who doesn't want to be a team leader at the TDF??? He "peaks" for Tour de Suisse but not the Tour? Dumb.

I think the tactic may be to try and fly in under the radar, hence all the "I won't be team leader" stuff.

He was building form at Tour De Suisse and think he is exaggerating the days raced bit too

At first I thought you just had the sophistication of both thought and expression of an 11 year old, but your continuing vitriol against two riders who are really just a bit whiney and not as 'winning' as they possibly should be suggests you really are 11 years old.

11 years old and gripped by a crush that you can only control by pretending to despise them.

    Let it go.

Yes my values?? I have values in cycling related news?? Stick to the topic. F. Schmuck I mean Schleck announces to the MEDIA that he has no form and he doesn't want to be the leader yet he doesn't mind racing even though he'll miss his brother. Frank opens himself up to all the criticism he's getting...it's that simple.
