Then what is An Post Ras?
Careful now.
The Rás is a completely different beast - its predominantly an amateur race, though some UCI Pro teams take part , (though not World Tour or Pro-Conti squads). Its a 2.2, 8 day stage race, run on a shoe-string but has been held for the past 59 years.
It's not - nor has it ever been - touted as a viable alternative for top level squads who aren't at the Giro.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -

The trouble with Gesink for me is that when in Rabo kit and riding he is so thin he reminds me of that creepy Rasmussen. With the helmet off and on the podium he seems quite normal!
Could have done with out the naked bloke - quite put me off my breakfast that morning.'Google can bring back a hundred thousand answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one.'

To my eyes that looks like such a long strech, but I guess that's what happens when you're a good 20cm shorter than he is.0

Bar width.
I did read he went for a narrower width on his road bike having done some expensive work in the wind tunnel courtesey of Omega Pharma cash. He's fiddled with his position quite a bit apparently (according to home).0 -
