There is always the premierinn option. Less than £30 per night0

Still struggling to sort transport up for me a Squarepants but we'll be there whatever.
Both have small hatches so a 7-8hr drive in a tiny car with a load of kit aint going to be fun!
Hoping on borrowing a company car (Octavia Estate) or we'll be hiring a van!
In other news... my Canyon is fixed :D:D0 -
Oh and btw.. I have a spare full face helmet if anyone needs one for the DH... its a large and has no peak, but will save your brain!0
-
Surely you can fit 2 of you in the 206, with the bikes on the boot rack, the camping stuff in the boot, and the riding stuff on the back seats?
Plus you get to break the driving up into 2 chunks by stopping for a ride at gisburn along the way. Can't one of you get insured on the others car for the weekend so you can split the driving?0 -
If I can fit two bikes and kit in the back of a Yaris (and I can, just about) I'm sure it's doable in a 206. And I don't have a rack!
We live in the unhappy shadows of skyscrapers freight trains and malls0

Lol, I don't have a rack either!
Its not really the room (although my Canyon is about an inch too long in reality) but I dunno if the 206 would make it haha!!
Due a service and I've had a few issues recently... Although I did solve the engine problem lol.

Inners uplift day:-
Just spoke to Charlie from the uplift people, nice guy... he said all the trails are rideable on trailbikes, hardtails whatever, there are get-rounds/chicken runs for the more hardcore stuff. He said speak to Elliot at sign on and he will be able to sort everyone out and advise on whatever.
Nice!0 -

Yea, I saw that as well - "No booking form with you, then no uplift" - so I've already printed mine off and it's on the (every growing) list of things that I have to remember to bring with me!!0 -

It is rather exciting indeedy... I've even now got the tent from my parents. No idea how to put it up, so I reckon i'll give it an hour before I reside to sleeping in whatever transport we turn up in
oh, and for anyone worrying that I'm going to be ridiculously fat and slow on the heavy 9sp Canyon, I'm changing it back to a double at the front so I can try to keep up... I'll still be fat and slow though!0 -
I'm sure I'll be slower I'm quite good with tents, so don't worry, we'll get it up (oo-er!) in no timeIt takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.
Join us on UK-MTB we won't bite, but bring cake!

Just had my days off confirmed. I shall now be heading over on the Friday morning/afternoon so there is a good chance I'll be around the freeride area in the afternoon.Attention all planets of the Solar Federation - We have assumed control.0 -
Under 3 weeks to go now!
Fingers crossed that monsoon season has finished by then.0 -
Can't wait
The Smidge spray has been comprehensively tested on the Macc Forest midges and works a treat.
Just got to sort out a BBQ to bring and then I'm done.
Even bought some cheap DH pyjama pants so that I really fit the "all the gear but no idea" label on the Sunday :oops:0 -
Yeah, hope its not too bad weather wise!
Got some spare lycra undershorts, new helmet and the Canyon is now dual ring Just gotta learn how to use a front mech again lol.
My dad sorted me out with a tent too!
How many people have helmet cams etc? I'm hoping to get a new bigger card for mine so I can get as much as poss on cam, but space will be limited!0 -
Got my old ATC helmet cam lying round somewhere, ive 2 4GB cards for it, good for a coupla hours or so, but it does weigh more than a small moon shame I won't have a Go Pro HD by the time of this trip, damn my 21st still being months away
Also anybody got ny idea if there will be spaces on the uplift left and how to book on it?0 -

Uplift Scotland is where you need to be booking the uplift.
29th July at Inners is the one everyone else is on.

Ah yes, mine too!!
You did mean a long time ago in the past didn't you.......0 -
I've got a funny feeling that my knee will still be utterly farked.
I'll be able to ride, it just feels like someone's cheese-gratering the underside of my kneecap after about 3 miles of gentle road riding. So I'll get round with handfuls of ibuprofen and then I'll cry all night.
F*cking drivers
Anyhoo, I've got my Contour cam, I'll only film the interesting bits, and I can get about 2 hours, so should be enough for a bit of everything.0 -
