Did notice lots of new 'no cycling' signs on my route, tried to rip the f**kers offDont see the issue as long as we are respectful of othersAll the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

respectful of others...not signs0

Just my local 'round the lake' loop
Stunning scenery! Where is this?
Compare that to this evening's ride. This was taken at the top of telegraph valley, pretty much the other side of the valley in the above photo.

Swinley Forrest for the first time yesterday (Saturday). Really enjoyed it apart from the heat (somewhere in the upper 80s in old money) which almost made my head burst. Still, I enjoyed it enough after doing the blue and the red to go back round the blue again, despite a pounding headache by that point. I'll definitely go back. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

I had the day off so had a quick blast at Cannock in the afternoon. I didn't see another soul on the trail other than some forestry commission blokes clearing brush, though I saw some riders just loading their bikes onto cars. Is it normally that quiet during the week? It was soggy and I got carried away on son of chainslapper trying to avoid using my brakes and had a near miss with a tree. Fun but wet times.0

It was quiet so I didn't have to spend as much time pulling over to let quicker people through but, yes, it's more enjoyable in the dry0

Great shot. Is that Haleigh Park or Bedgebury? All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

Hadleigh Park, only 15 mins from my house, it's an ok place to ride, hard work as you are constantly up and down, I can manage about an hour (with breaks) before I have to go for coffee and cake Great for fitness0 -
Looks great, especially with that hint of trail snaking in the distance under a lovely blue sky.All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

I got some old school downhill yesterday at Mountain Ash. Uplift with WMDBA so basic but effective and proper fun.
The trail was long, flowing and fun. Probably be good on an enduro bike but I was on my DH bike.
Even sideways sleet at the top of the mountain didn't stop us having great fun.
Chasing a Santa Cruz Syndicate world cup rider didn't go as planned and ended in a big crash when I ran out of talent and grip.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Great vid. Looks like a great ride. I actually felt a bit wheezy when you were so close to the cliff edge (could be my dinner though). Especially enjoyed the wipeout! what camera are you using?
looks lovely weather and the views look terrific. I'm very jealous mate!0 -
Today I celebrated Jesus inventing the chocolate egg by going for a spin on the Quantocks.
I learnt to never again drop straight in to a steep, rocky descent without checking my brakes work (the rear didn't)
I rescued a newborn lamb from a massive angry dog and nearly got killed to death.
It was wetter than an otters pocket
Had a great ride though.
Went there in the shiny, fast car for even more fun!

Glentress and Innerleithen this weekend for 3 days, great short trip, bit wet ended up with a dislocated finger and a broken helmet, put my finger straight back into joint,at least Giro do crash replacement, back home bit bruised and battered, but a massive smile on my face0

Went to peak district with a few mates yesterday and my god some of the trails were gnarly and steep.
I need to upgrade to a full suspension bike as my hard tail wasn't ideal for bits of it but coped only got 120mm travel and spent some time lowering my seat so I didn't go over the bars.
A mates santa cruz Bronson carbon with marzocchi 350 forks seemed to just glide over the rocks.0 -
First Ride of Follow the Dog in Cannock today. Great fun even in the drizzle.0
-
Went here (Conwy) on Sunday. Great views and descents but the 3850 feet of climbing in 20 miles of trail was hard work on a full susser especially in the heat.

Had a nice little potter around the longmynd this morning for a couple of hours. Working in Chirch Stretton means I can pop out for a couple of hours whenever I like! Noce to ride up, have lunch on the top then bomb it back down. Good use of an extended lunch break!
It's getting up that takes the time there! All of the routes up I've found so far involve some element of pushing!
Today I headed up Cardingmill Valley, across to pole bank, then down trail 9 into Little Stretton. Would be nice to find a steady route up. The Burway is the obvious choice but seems a bit of a cop out with so many off road trails about. Maybe Cardingmill then up the sheep track to the cattle grid and on from there. We'll see. Plenty of exploring to be done!0 -
Today I decided to do some more road miles and take a trip to the seaside.Lovely day for it.

I've found Cardingmill valley to be a bit too busy with tourists to go up (although it's probably not as busy when you go up midweek). This is my favourite route over there and I also prefer the way it takes you up for the first climb-

I still find I have to get off and push but only for a very short part of it (the steepest bit on the first climb).0 -

Yeah I wouldn't fancy cardingmill in either direction on a sunny Saturday morning! Mid week it's not too bad. The first (lower) section is always busy but most don't venture further up. still gonna save a run down for crack of dawn or late evening!0 -
What a day my 11 year old did Aberystwyth Concur the cliff DH, never had a go before but last year he watched it and said I want to give that a go, my nerves were jingling a little, practise was dry and warm when it came to the first race run it started to rain but nothing to worry about, but by the time his second run came it was lashing it down which changed the whole track but he stayed on and amazingly came second in his class.0 -
That conquer the cliff race looks like a load of fun. Unfortunately it's just too far away for me to go for a days riding.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

The course was very good got very exciting after the thunder, lightning and torrential rain people sliding out/off all over the place, did get my nerves giggling but no misshapes, Rachel Atherton did it as well she's my boys number 1 erm crush I think

Llandegla this morning with my boy.
First ride of the new year and we had rain, sleet, snow and sun.
The seal went in my rear caliper so I had to ride the last 5 miles with only the front brake. It made some of the down hills a bit more exciting than normal and took my mind off how cold my wet feet were.“Life has been unfaithful
And it all promised so so much”
