33 km 1000 m elevation 3h.30 mins in the beautiful Sintra national park Portugal0

Not been on here recently for various reasons (moving house, finishing master's, working, actually riding my damn bike). I now live near Llanberis, right by some prime riding, so am riding every evening now!
From the top of the hill behind my house on Monday night:
Llanberis woods on my ride this evening. It drops right off further on and gets pretty steep and tech, I didn't fancy stopping to take photos there though, it's too much fun

Nice! so good that long evenings have co-incided with good weather, did 20km offroad before work yesterday and another 1km after work both going full out. so much fun but legs feeling it this morning!
Trails are so dusty i slid out sideways going round an uphill corner! :-)0 -

Plenty to take your mind off it there. Fantastic place. We often stay at the Llyn Gwynant campsite just on the other side of the pass or at the Plas Curig Hostel In Capel Curig. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

I rode at Cannock chase today for the first time, absolutely knackered, horrendously unfit but my did I have fun!
Hopefully get a ride out there again in a couple of weeks when I'm back from my work trip.0 -
post-work blast around the usual local loop this evening. Top of Llanberis woods again.

Rode the Scott MTB Marathon round 1 at Builth Wells yesterday nice event with a lot of climbing, the worst bit was the wind, it was horrendous blowing you all over the place and it didn't seem to matter which direction you had to ride it was in your face.
But made it back and well chuffed 1st grand vet and 9th out of 129

Just by me in South Wales, was a bit gutted I couldn't negotiate a pass to go down to the xc race in Newnham, Devon but today's ride made up for it!0

Fairly quick ride around Deepcut, Pirbright and Ash Ranges this morning checking out an off-road route section for riding into work. Had some fires up in Ash (ironic) and was still smouldering which was pretty cool riding through the smoke.
Saw some guys out including a few Capra Pros and a Banashee of some sort who were really chatty - not. A friendly hello greater with a muted reply. Sometimes I dispair at the human race.Bird Aeris : Trek Remedy 9.9 29er : Trek Procaliber 9.8 SL0 -
Knocked off a 23k road ride in the morning with a friend and then did a 16k off road ride in the afternoon - few PR's, 1 fall, good times.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0

A little 10 mile loop on my doorstep.
Sun shining, sick of the tarmac now. The sun beating down made me brave, attempted a bit of the route I always avoid. little, steep section - picture doesn't show how steep it is.
But coming from the upper trail you need to do a 90 degree turn to make it and you are always (or I am carrying too much speed and chicken it but did it today).
All in all good fast flowy ride, and noticed more people much have been hitting the trail as berms have appeared when last year there wasn't any, never done them before so lowered the saddle and kept hitting them for for about 30 mins trying to be faster and more angle of attack.
Learnt I need a dropper now (after never understanding why people wanted them, and just how much my wheel set sucks too much flex cornering hard at speed, don't know if it is in the rims or the sidewalls0 -
Were you abducted by aliens? All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

Parts of the old Olympic XC route a Hadleigh, looks like most of the features are still there. Not happy with my fitness, but happy that I was using the a lines on some of the features. Also reports are our team finished second overall, which is a bonus (didn't stay for the results as we had a 4 hour drive)0

I think he means you - the photo of the bike lying in the track as if abandoned suddenly. I could be wrong, Angus can be a little hard to follow sometimes.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
I thought it was a natural occurring phenomenon to be abducted when riding solo.
Planning my ride for tomorrow. Did it before once in a group ride, but can only parts of the route and can't find the loop on google. But I suppose it will be an adventure, should be 20 miles, lets see how many more I add on by getting lost.0 -
So yesterday I rode the Pemberton Enduro - 4 stages, 37k riding, 1550m of climbing - first ever bike race, longest distance and climbing for a long while, went in with three objectives - don't get injured, complete the course and don't come last in age category. Achieved all three but left slightly disappointed with my times on the stages now and wish I had pre-ridden the course as all the stages were completely new to me.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0

Good stuff! Yeah, the handful of races I've done (inc. the Mega) - I've always just turned up and rid the course blind then regretted it at the end of the weekend when looking at the times. Mega again this year, will get there a day early I do a test run"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes
