Got about as far as I was planning to go from my house last night, messed up a steep ascent, dabbed a foot to stop falling into a tree and ended up with horrific cramp and hopped all the way home

He now has a gash that'll end up as a V or Nike style tick on his shin:

His is much better than mine. Makes me look like a wuss.

Took my lad to Collingbourne Woods but it was really boggy. Hard work and couldn't find the fun stuff (bomb holes etc) as time was short and didn't venture too far from the beaten track. Rear wheel slipped on a muddy climb, foot slipped on pedal and now have a big hole and smaller below it from pedal spikes. Now I remember why I used to use spds!

Long time since I rode with any regularity or ability. Tried my hand at the local bmx track with my stepson and a mate who rides motocross. Sessioned the smallest jump there - a 4' step up to a 6' table top. I was awful. Kept sucking up the bike taking all the pace out and not even coming close to clearing the table. So, with some encouragement from my moto X mate, I decided to really try to lean back and not push down at all. I soared like an eagle straight into the air. Then straight down onto the back wheel which skipped out from under me and bailed sliding down the down side on my arse. That few seconds in the air was amazing. But now I've cut my bum :(

Feels great to gain confidence and get some air though, even if it was rubbish and I didn't land it. Cracking great fun. Love it.

Pretty nuts day, up at 4:50, 3 n a half hour drive and some mad trails.

Didnt enjoy the morning as the suspension was set up way too hard. Dialled after lunch and loved the black!

The Wild Boar Chase in the Forest of Dean.
Did it with my wife and son and it was good fun. Hard work in places, but good overall. The temperature made it feel harder than last year's though - it was mid-20's degC for most of it and rose as high as 28 according to my Garmin.

It's ace, isn't it. I stick to the blues and mince the red a few times, but still love the place.

Thornton Moor above Bradford. It felt really remote, and a glorious day. It was tough going though, we only covered about 7 miles in an hour and a half - seriously underestimated the effort involved. First real off road this year.

Here's where I was today on the new bike - just about to descend, right as it started raining and blowing a gale. <3 wales

haha..no idea. Stoat? Was laying right across the trail. Yeah - it's pretty sweet over here for sure. Perfect time of year as all the melt snow gives the trails some rare dampness which is great...guess you don't have that problem back home

the Mega's already looking at home though (y)

Decided to try something different today - Marin Trail

    What a load of sh*te

Binned it off after the first 90 mins of climbing and went to Degla instead
  • ilovedirt
    ilovedirt Posts: 5,798
Are you joking? The Marin is excellent. It has actual technical trails and far fewer clueless Audi driving idiots.
The first climb is a bit long, but there's just as much descent as there is climbing, funnily enough! The first climb at degla is a lot longer in fact

    Maybe I got lost

    I did a good 30 - 40 mins of climbing before the first descent, which was 2 - 3mins

The climbing was boring though. Straight wide fire roads.

Mud fest around the White Peaks

Not the best of rides. It'll stick one day that the White peaks are not worth bothering about, but determined to prove that wrong.
