16k is a decent distance at that age, my lad is 10 and 25k is around his limit.

Now get back to the roadies section

Oops, apologies dudes, if it's any consolation she was on her bright pink Specialized Hotrock hard tail lol.

I don't think the Roadies would have been as generous as she didn't require the need for gels :D

If you are looking to upgrade the awful tyres that specialized fit, schwalbe do the black jack tyre in 24" which works well enough.

I did a nice 50 miles around the Surrey Hills, weather was far better than they threatened.

That Aspley place looks like utter hell, deep sandy fireroads?! No ta.

Lovely weekend with two rides on Exmoor out of Lynton area, first had a bit too much road but some good stuff in there and steep arsed climbs, todays was a great bridleway based ride with some superb tracks.

A quick hope you are ok to the roadie fella being air lifted off the road side after a wet corner took him into a ditch - never like to see a fellow biker in trouble. Quick return to health I hope.

Lee and Cragg, first time I have managed Lee without getting lost, probably missed bits but a good day out,

NWAA had to come out for a rider who had an off at the end of Cragg, hope he's ok.
  • A little flat ride to dunmow on the flitch to get some wet weather tyres and then a meander home. Nice 46km

Just back from a classic little Nettlebed loop - 30k with some nice undulations, weather pretty much perfect for riding - dry, mild light breeze.

Exmoor Explorer today. Sideways rain and great natural trails. Im sure I saw a lifeguard and a no diving, no bombing, no heavy petting sign on the trail down from Dunkery Beacon which was more like a river.

I decided, stupidly given the rain, to head out on the HT on local trails then up to the PBW between Hollingworth Lake and Ogden Reservoir. I then did some exploring, which involved being chased by a massive wolf (Alsatian) down a sweet trail. I then hit a dead end, but didn't fancy heading about 3km back up hill past the dog, so had to walk through some super boggy fields full of cow crap. I was pretty lost but managed to find my way back to Newhey.

Summit trail (Red), Nant-yr-Arian, nr Aberystwyth. Some first class singletrack with some of the best views you'll ever see on a MTB trail. This trail is very underated if you ask me! Go there! Rain or shine.

Lol, unfortunately only one way. Still got the return leg to do at 4pm :-)

Although its certainly something to aim for. The steep climbs at the start and finish of the route kill my times.

long-ish ride home from work, over some mountain passes, and through a bank of thick cloud. Feeling strong again after about a week of being fatigued.

A local mooch, went looking at some new ground round the back of Hopwood Hall college, few paths there to extend a loop.

did the red bull trail (sorry, "tarw" trail) at coed y brenin.
Kept thinking the rear end of the bike felt odd, but everything appeared fine, 'till I got home and found a completely flat tyre.
    Oh, so that's why...!

Last time I rode there I ended up puncturing the rear three times in around 10 minutes or so and doing the last 6k of the ride on a flat. I certainly knew about it though, was very bumpy out back

It is bumpy! But some modifications I had made to the rear shock last year have basically turned the Marin into a hoverbike!
I think I must have lightly pinched the rear tyre on "the rocky horror show", I was certainly hitting it at speed!
