Back on target according to my graph, and no more social events for 10 days, so that's promising.

The sweet spot is riding most days for long enough to burn some hundred calories, but not long enough to require significantly more food. Weekend warriors typically end up eating more than the consume on the ride... I certainly doleft the forum March 20230 -
I dont eat on rides less than 4 hours, most club rides are 2-3 with the odd 6 hr one in the summer. I stopped gels and energy drinks years ago, just real food and water for me, sometimes salt if its really hot.
My point being i'm back on the bike seemingly recovered from my injury, fingers crossed i'll stay injury free and start losing weight again.Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

36km/h is a general club run?
Tends to be. It's a tri club so flat tends to be the order of the day, and we ride through and off for most of it. Generally there is two Advanced groups of 10 going out with a 4 minute cat and mouse to the halfway rest stop and then repeat on the way home.
Intermediate / Advance is 32kph with no through and off, and then the Intermediate and Improvement groups are 28kph and 26kph accordingly. If you want hills then that's the Saturday Social ride.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

My point is that I don’t believe that 50% of riders will be averaging 36km/h for 2.5 h tomorrow. Maybe I’m misunderstanding.

Large groups tend to move pretty quick and claim glory out of lack of air resistance. I recall averaging well in excess of 20 mph during the first couple of hours of some Brevets, where strong riders were pushing hard at the front...

I also eat on a 2-3 hour training ride for exactly the same reason. It is really only on rides over 3 hours that I start to feel weak if I'm not eating while on the go.0 -

A mere 0.4kg loss this week, slightly annoying as I was down to 112.2kg midweek but a work function on Thurs and meal out with family om Fri seem to have reversed the weight loss. Trying not to get too fixated on it as these big fluctuations can happen at my weight and the trend is still downwards. Going to look to add extra miles this week, maybe a MTB night ride on top of the commute and see how that goes. Next step is to look more at food choices, for now I've been losing weight just by upping exercise and cutting out snacking but if that stalls then it'll be time to deploy the salads!0 -

Forgot to update on Friday after the weekly weigh-in. Feeling fitter and finding getting up the lumps around my way not as difficult ( I won't say easy). The way I see it currently is that I've lost a decent bikes worth of weight so far. Not a bad upgrade at all!0
