18.5k feet of climbing ? That's pretty impressive. I note however that your times up The Tumble get slower and slower with each passing. Pacing issues?

Actually the last three climbs were done with other riders and hence slower. The wheels properly came off during climb 7 but I got it all back together again after that. I'm aiming for 15 next year!

But did you stop for a icecream at Keepers?

used ride/push bikes as small kids to keepers get a icecream and freewheel all the way home.

Haha, the Ice Cream Man needs to MTFU, he was nowhere to be seen.

Oddly enough though I got an ice-cream headache on the first descent. Bloomin' freezing at 6am.

Logged my commute home this evening, ranking 15th / 49 on one segment. On the Brompton. \o/

Also created my own segment on another ride, so I'm 1st/1. Is that cheating? :D

Am I doing something wrong. It's no longer telling new PBs etc.
I know my morning ride includes an 8th overall (which is rare for me).

For some segments it doesn't bother mentioning it - probably the less popular ones. I got 7th up Star Hill the other day which I was pleasantly surprised by because I was feeling rubbish - didn't get a mention. I've had KOM's ignored before as well - your feed said I'd come 8th on some other segment, like "what about the KOM people?"!

Set a few PRs around Regents Park this evening, which was interesting as I was on the winter bike  I'm thinking it was more to do with fresh legs...
  • managed a 10th last night on one of the two steep hills in essex, even though after riding 27 miles didnt have the energy to go fast up it, so i was quietly surprised!!!, I need to sort out the gears though couldnt drop into granny ring
Sorry its not me it's the bike ;o)

Padders has depressed me again. He's set a load of fast times I can't hope to match on a ride that's five times the length of mine. Good effort.
  • Forgot to turn the new GPS off last night, so it kept recording until I rode in this morning. Amazingly there seems to be a segment along the coast road which goes out and back again, and my route picked it up giving me a 10th place. Out of 10. I think I could improve on the 14 and a half hour time, and the 0.4 mph average, given the right training.

How are you finding it. I've forgotten to press the save button a couple of times when turning it off. I'll find out if it joins the rides up or just forgets them when I upload everything tomorrow night.
  • Really very good, certainly once you update the software off the CD. The version on the CD is dreadful and buggy, the latest version seems excellent. All told, it seems like a proper bargain so far.

Oh, and if you turn it off, it completes the ride for you. I had set auto power-off, but that didn't seem to do anything last night.

Yes, I'm impressed. Need to have a bit more of a play to work everything out. I was going to get a week on it and then upload and mess around with it. As you say a bargain, even at the UK price.

    Cheers.

Legs felt dead to start with but that turned into a really good blast. After the off-road Bushy Park segments I looked a right state streaking through Kingston and RP covered in mud and sporting a big cheesy grin.

Was hoping to give Okgo a run for his money on the Ham Cross to Pen Ponds segment (http://app.strava.com/segments/867960) but happy with 4th.

Yes, I took the mucky path this morning. Got to work covered in mud, but also smiling. I had to ride the frankenbike in this morning to check everything is hunky dory as the boy and I are doing a sponsored ride on Sunday. Very slow though, combination of last nights beer and curry and I thought the air was much heavier than usual. Riding an MTB is much harder work as well.

    it was windy today, right?
Finally got the motivation to do more than 2 laps of Richmond and did 4 acw and one clockwise. My first 3 laps came to 65.48. Lost 4 mins on sawyers alone over the 3 laps because of the wind, so quite confident I can bust out under an hour with better conditions.

Took my old Marin MTB today as I'm doing the London Bridges ride on it on Sunday. Thought I'd pootle but having overtaken a lycra clad young lady (schoolboy error) I had to keep my speed up a bit. Got to Bushy Park and carried on at a reasonable pace, being wary of peds and dogs on the path.
I've just uploaded from my Holux thingy and I've got a joint KOM. How did that happen? Unfortunately tailwind assisted. But I seem to be as fast on that as I am on the Jake, very odd.
Heres hoping Padders will leave me be for a bit.

Anyone got an up-to-date, working premium code? I've tried a few I found on Google but most have expired.
