Do any of you filter your results for age and weight? I suspect not because most of you will be less than 40y old. I ask because I am 50 later this year and have now noticed Strava allows me to filter for age( 45-55y) so I can see that i am notionally an older geezer KOM on some of my rides So, should I older geezer MTFU and resist the temptation to filter or is filtering results acceptable? Beware that your answer may affect you too as you get older!0

I'm not a filterer, I would be tempted to though if it were possible to filter by recording device. Get rid of a lot of those spuriously recording androids and iphones.FCN 9 || FCN 50

Tweaked a copied a course from RidewithGPS and did 60 miles out to see the folks' in Kent via some hills. 20mins before we're due to go out for dinner that evening I upload the ride and notice that's 497 miles for the month. Bugger, I've not done 500 before... it'll be dark when we get back and no lights on country lanes etc.
Piss everyone off by dashing round the block to make 502. Still made the reservation, don't know what they were moaning about :roll:0 -

What is wrong with me, commute in today I killed myself for the first 4 miles and got:
1 Top 10 KOM(6th)
and another PR
3 2nd's
1 3rd
...and I still feel like I underachieved. Does anyone have days like this?0 -

Love the age filter, top of every segment on my commute bar one (this will be sorted soon), even got a KoM this morning, which was nice!! Cheers Asprilla!

Just age filtered the segments I go to work & back with & yes, KOM on the majority, 2nd on the rest mainly including some of the more popular Embankment ones!
But then its so much more pleasurable to be KOM against someone 1/2 your age or less1997 Gary Fisher Big Sur

It is though one of the rare sports where age isn't THAT big of a deal, hence you can win the TDF well into your 30's etc. Its not like Football where a younger player will always have the advantage of supple joints etc. IMO anyway.Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0

An unexpected KOM on the way home this am, it's always harder off nights! I'd be more excited with a top 10 on the scr though, given myself a six week plan to achieve this goal.Bianchi Nirone C2C FCN40

In any segment click on "Silly commuter racers" - it'll filter all people who've recorded a trace and show your rank amongst only SCRrs.What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?0

Had a very rare tailwind this morning, so decided to give it some on one of the few segments I've thus far never really had a proper go at. Got to about 100m from the start of the two-mile segment, and it starts to snow and hail, no matter, I have a tailwind to take advantage of. Get to the start of the segment, and it's getting quite heavy but I decided I'd still have a crack. Start to cane it along the segment.
The snow's getting worse now, almost white-out conditions, the hail is stinging my face, but still I push on, I need to keep the high 20's to stand any chance - I'm pretty much on the money, pacing it to keep going for the distance. We're now at blizzard level, I think, I can see for about 10 m ahead of me.
Strangely, at no point did I think of slowing-down because it was dangerous, my brain was screaming for a KOM. Finished the segment and the snow eased almost immediately, got into work, synced Strava and it tells me...
Fourth. Fecking fourth, about 9 seconds off the KOM. Knackers.0 -

Where's DDD when you need someone to point out a Star Trek reference?
Ah yes, he's steering clear of the Strava thread :twisted:0
