First attempt at 3 laps this year. 2 minutes of my solo PB and only 1 minute down on my group PB. 18:46, 18:38 and 19.07 - 56:31. Looking good to knock some time off in the coming months. Followed it with 4 reps (slow) of Broomfield and a couple of pints, fish and chips. 51 miles for the evening. Bliss.0

I was in the park yesterday afternoon myself.

Couldn't get a good lap as too many cars were either looking at deer or blocking up the approach to the roundabout at the bottom of Dark Hill - - argh - - do they not know I need to carry some speed into that corner?
I was also experimenting with manning up and attacking all the hills - I am in two minds about if I don't lose time breathing out of my butthole for a minute if I attack Sawyers and Dark Hill or if the time I save compensates for the lessened power in the recovery phase . . Anyway - Did the whole three laps in the big ring - yes it did hurt at times but once you get used to it's not as bad as you think... Taking it easyish between hill sets

So If I write off the seconds due to gawkers in cars - I only need to find a minute a lap and I'm in with a shot, need to get up early one morning before the cars fill the place up and go for a time.Fixed gear for wet weather / hairy roadie for posing in the sun.

Just wish I wasn't the other side of the city, it would be too tempting to blast over there and have nothing left in my legs for the laps.0

No time for 3 laps this morning but went for 2. Was in the park for around 07:10am.
Lap 1: 17:51 (Anti) - this is a PB according to my Garmin data.
Lap 2: 20:01 (Clock)
Data from the Garmin's Lap function rather than Strava.
Lap one was traffic free, lap two wasn't. Given that it was cold and misty, I reckon a clear run and warmer weather could see me under the 55 mark, especially if I go in just the one direction!- 2023 Vielo V+1

I'm a little afraid, as I imagine are James Freeman and Ben Porter (you'll see a few names keep popping up on the South East London segments!)0 -

Not more KOM's to be taken away from me ?
Did manage KOM on Brixton Hill last night after a 3 pint lunch!0 -
Nice picture on there CP. I like my little commute, unlike yours there are not many segments to show up my inadequacies.0

and Ian Hamilton, you guys have put some good targets down. Look forward to hurting myself. Still trying to get where the segments are and why some have sodding lights involvedPurveyor of sonic doom

I sometimes create segments that include lights on purpose and make them long segments. Shows sustained pace as opposed to just blasting for 30 seconds. Yes, you also have to be lucky with the lights sometimes (St James/Mill St maybe) but it does happen.1997 Gary Fisher Big Sur

Quite pleased with getting up to 21st on Millbank Southbound after waiting to get by a few cyclists at the beginning which probably cost me a few seconds. Not on the first page though which is distressing.
How do I join the SCR club online?
Should we get some kit made up? I think so. Targets a-go-go!0 -

Joint 21st (with 6 other people)? Not bad, that puts you in Mr Merrique territory.FCN 9 || FCN 50 -
Does 1981 indicate you DOB? I've always wondered about this stuff.
Who is Merrique?! Hopefully he's some brilliant pro who did everything he could to keep that pace along Millbank. Hmmm.
Tailwind tonight which was nice...0 -

You wish :P he's one of the board members who frequents that route.
about 10mph tailwind?
I've started using this site with strava recently - http://www.wunderground.com/history/air ... atename=NA - historical weather. It made me feel better about a kom I'm after when I realised the guy with it had a 20 mph tailwind.
Yeah, I first joined this board with a 'throwaway' username as my normal internet one was taken. Was just reporting my bike stolen. Came back though & already had the username...FCN 9 || FCN 50 -
