Just to mention, I am starting to fear for Strava's long term future. They have a ridiculous habit of removing segment leader boards if they are flagged by somebody as dangerous. Tower Bridge north and south now gone. WTF? They will very quickly ruin it if they don't sort that out.

What?!!!? I've just re-flagged them asking them to be re-instated. Someone had also flagged TBS - By the Water but they've kept Tower Hill to Bermondsey... No other bridge I see has been flagged.

They need to re-think their whole strategy as one of the obvious by-products of Strava is encouraging people to ride fast in certain places. They can't rule out all built up areas? Removing the Strava segment is not going to stop me riding over Tower Bridge at the speeds I do, nor any other cyclist that goes reasonably fast there.

I regularly exceed the 30mph road speed limit for cars - does that make the route I'm taking dangerous as well?

You're right Mat, the whole ethos of their website is taking the competitive nature of people in order to make money. If they start removing popular segments then they will lose support, following and revenue.

If they do get back to you, could you also mention that joint KOM issue where if you weren't the first to get the time it doesn't feature on your KOM list?! Really bugs me, that.

Thought that was by design - you've got to better the existing KoM to take someone's crown?

Oh I suppose so, its just annoying when you get your ride report and it says you are KOM then when you investigate further it turns out you aren't. Must try harder.

Yep, tell them to start measuring to within one one-thousandth of a second... With Strava's reputation for accuracy, that'll fix it ;-)

I quite regularly reach 300 mph, fact. Strava says so.

Felt quick last night so took the geared bike in this morning.
Ahhh, nice weather. Mitts and short sleeves for the first time this year.
    Two KOMs and a 2nd place down CS7 :D

Might be the last outing for the stock Ritchey wheels that came with the bike, time to see how the Fulcrums fare.

    January 114 feet [597miles]
    February 10,965 feet [904mile]

I bet you dread the ride home. There isn't even any suspension on your Allez...

    Some nice bumps in RP.

Anyone entered the Specialized climbing thingy.
Seems you need to average over 700m/day for 45 days. That's beyond me.

    God's crap . . .

    That's a massive ask . . . .

As a yardstick that would be all the climbing in a lap of Richmond Park - five times every day for a month a half . . .

Or if you are going to do just one climb, Sawyers Hill from the Ballet School roundabout, 19.2 times, let's call it 20 . . . .

    If only . .

Doesn't say anything about it being a team effort
Each rider who logs 105,312 feet in elevation gain from March 15 to April 30 will receive a custom Specialized and Strava commemorative water bottle and surprise finisher gift, not to mention the gargantuan bragging rights you’ll earn. Good luck!

    Christ...

I think Strava grossly overestimate the standard of their site membership. Or they just don't have many water bottles to give away.

Easyjet is my only hope of that... or perhaps a trip to the Alps - or both.

It is properly mental . .

    I've just done some homework . .

So if I was going to do "Queens Road Richmond hill" http://app.strava.com/segments/669127 repeats . . at 3:30 per climb and a minute to get down and start again . . at 28m per climb, I'd need to do 26 repeats . . an hour and 29 mins solid climbing, 25 mins turning myself around, just under two hours a day . . . .

All that for 1 f*cking water bottle. Not even a matching set.

So . . . Could break it up . . . an hour before work . . . an hour at the end of the day . .

    hang on . .

I was forgetting the circa 200m of climbing I do anyway on the commute . .

    So 718-200 = 518m of extra climbing per working day . .

    ah . . that's only circa 18 reps - that's only 01:22 more time all up

    45 mins in the morning, 40 in the afternoon . . . .
    hmmmmmm

    Not the Challenges.

The Suffer score is complete guff. It's better to gauge it by the amount of saliva and snot pouring out of your mouth and nose, respectively.
    FCN 2-4.

Can't get into Garmin Connect . . What's the elevation gain in the classic three Hills Surrey Route, Hungry Hill, Crocknorth, Box hill?

I'm feeling my mileage coming down but my climbing increasing . . .

Sign up Greg - I would welcome company on what will invariably turn into a series of unenjoyable hill reps in RP. Will be as much fun as base mile training.
