I'm not really sure why segments are hidden.

In other news only 1 hour and 29 minute to go then i'll finish the Train like Taylor challenge. Shame I only have 30 mins ride this evening :(

yeah i have the same problem, after awhile i just cut and paste the activities onto a folder on my computer, so it frees up space and allows stat sites to upload quicker

Wiped and reset device and now it all works again. Hmmmm
What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?

I had that issue. Not sure if it's the update to the strava website or IE autoupdating to version 10 that caused the issue. Firefox worked fine without resetting anything. It may be the Garmin Communicator plugin doesn't play nicely with IE10. I'm going with the Stupid IE, Stupid Microsoft answer.

Should flag that. Average 190HR, max 250HR. Clearly he lent his bike to a hamster to clock that KOM

OK, probably a different thing then.

I do periodically remove old activities from the device. It makes it quicker to save and upload new data.

OT, but has anyone spotted a difference between IE9 and IE10. I'm stumped.

I got an email from Strava last night some bugger has taken a KOM I had in Richmond Park on the trail. That's halved my KOM count. I'll have to search for some rarely used segments.

Some stuff that worked on IE9 doesn't work on IE10.

Yup, that was my early assessment.

Re the KOM loss, bad luck. One of mine was nabbed a couple of days ago, by someone who had recorded an average speed of 35mph up a steep hill; he started at around 25mph at the bottom of the climb, and accelerated to 50 mph at the top. I regained my KOM a day later.

No need to flag, that's a perfectly possible time & speed. Plus I can just take it back now I have something to aim for.

I can vouch for coriordan's time, as I was a few second behind him... Also, either his heart or his chest strap are fecked and tend to be 20-40bpm higher than a human at any time, though now you say it dhope, his legs are quite similar to a hamster's...

You missed the chance to use him as a leadout and nip past for the KOM at the last minute? Shame :D

There is a known problem with Garmin HR belts where they suddenly fail and start giving truly random readings - I once recorded 260bpm waiting at a set of traffic lights... The good news is that Garmin are really accomodating and if you ring them up (the number is on the website somewhere) and quote your serial number and explain the problem they will send out a new one for you (although I always made sure I changed the battery first, just in case).

Oooh. Thanks BC. I bought it from here, but the guy kindly included the receipt from when he 1st bought it, so fingers x'd.
  • I've had to contact them twice now about it and they haven't asked for proof of purchase - just a serial number. So hopefully it should be pretty straight forward for you!

I led him out up to a steady 32mph and allowed him the glory. I'm too kind.

    PS, he fibs.

    pah!
I led you out beautifully to latch onto a passing car, which you wimped out on, so I decided that if you didn't want the KOM, I'd gladly have it myself.

Ah so you got the KOM by drafting/cheating ;) Mine was a solo effort.

It was a sort-of joint effort. No cars were drafted in the winning of that KOM

Not sure if such a small segment (less than a mile) really counts, but I got my first KOM on last night's commute home (along the Cambridge guided bus route). Was really rather chuffed with m'self!! Tried to keep the pace up and take the next one (an extention of the first) but ended up 2nd.

I was wearing trainers, baggy shorts and carrying a rucksack so i reckon there's a few more seconds to come off that! (which means there's also a perfectly good chance that a "proper cyclist" wil nip up there and smash it!).

It was done totally solo though, and dodging a few pedestrians!

After weeks of trying and nearly throwing up through the effort a number of times, I finally got the outright KOM on a segment this morning having tied it a couple of weeks back. More a psychological victory than a physical one as it was really starting to bother me. I don't care if it gets taken now, I can rest easy knowing I did have it in me after all!

Well got a KOM again though this time seems I was doing 35mph around swinley, in other words a short segment in a wooded area gives duff times, well i never!

Also inspired by the tunnel thread, i created a segment for the Gelli Fellen Tunnel which is on the Clydach Gorge railway, to see if any one else was daft enough to go though as well, so far answer is no...
