Arrgghhhh - missed the KOM on Lea Bridge Road East by 2 seconds. 7:36. I was 15 seconds ahead 3/4 of the way through when a car overtakes, indicates to turn left, I slow, it stops, I stop, Mexican standoff. So that cost me 17 seconds and a smashed KOM.

Everyone's got an excuse ;)

It's a good section but I don't bother trying for it when I go that way. Two sets of lights & they both seem to always get me. Second set of lights tends to be backed up with a bridge full of cars anyway.
When I got 2nd (now third JZed) I wasn't trying but cursed myself when I got home & realised how close I was to KOM.

Edit: 11:30 PM, guess there weren't too many cars then apart from your standoff? :)

Edit: Edit: Ah, & I'm just talking about the shorter lea bridge strava route, not the full one.

Riding at 11.30pm was bliss. Was convinced the KOM must have jumped lights as I have never managed to get through two consecutive greens on that route. However, last night I hit green upon green and other than the one car it was almost a perfect run. Even more annoying as not sure everything will come together again.

I only created it on Saturday I think ;). So I'm hoping the leaderboard will rebuild above you. And am going to have to go out on my loop again - out to that loop and back is 15 miles on the nose from my house, so a useful 50 minute training run if I have to compress weekend rides. Plus 15 miles is the bike distance in the Sprint Tri Im doing next month.
I see you've edited the segment and I'm now in 2nd. Shocking behaviour
I didn't know the segment existed til I got home, now I'm going to go out again and reclaim it  :D

I edited it but it didn't update the leaderboard till after I'd gone to bed. That wasn't the intention - I just wanted to make it more loop-like, so put the start parallel with the finish.
What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?

Got a couple out in Surrey today. Certainly decent conditions to get them Though.

dhope - Not a bad first attempt on Broadway to Bec the other night, try giving it a go at the start of your ride with fresh legs.

PS - the spot in the middle where it flattens off is good for getting your cadence back up.

    Have fun.

Didn't quite know where it started. And there was traffic. And I'll try it with gears rather than fixed. And, er, another excuse.
Very good target to aim for though, will have to try it a few more times before I move away from Balham at the end of next week

Rode up to Ladbroke Grove this morning and then over to my office in Aldgate, so went on a number of new and unusual segements :)

I got a 2nd Overall on Euston Road, which was mentioned & flagged up but there were a load of hidden segements. When I unhide them, I find I had a number of 6ths/7ths etc overall but they're not showing on my ride "achievements"

Went back through some of my old Strava rides and created a segment, waited for the leaderboard to build and I'm in the bottom 5 :( Why didn't my pootle show up earlier?
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

So far this week, have lost a KOM by 3 secs, taken back 2 secs off it to gain 2nd Overall, gained 2 other 2nds, a 3rd a brace of 5ths etc...

    Must try harder :(

I don't have many KOMs so, when I got a notification last night that one had been pinched, I went straight out and nailed it within about half an hour. I feel a bit juvenile now.

Going through a bit of a dry patch myself, only one PR in the last week or so, hit a bit of a plateau I think and I need to go out and beast myself a few times to kickstart myself.

Went on holiday for a week, came back to a string of "Uh-oh" emails. Fortunately quite a few of those rides seem to have been flagged, but I have still lost a few of my Derbyshire KOM's which is annoying as I won't be back there in a hurry. Picked up a couple of new KOM's last night to get my overall total back to where it was, feeling fresh after a week off the bike and conditions pretty good (30.2kph average speed to work this morning which is possibly the fastest I have recorded since moving to Beckenham!)

Ooof! That's a good time. I think I'm 6th or 7th, so rare to be able to catch all 5 sets of lights well along that road to have a good go at it. Whenever I feel like I have the legs to have a go at it I seem to get stopped by all of them

There are so many segments along the lea bridge road, it's difficult to remember where they all start & finish anyway :?

J-Zed got two on that ride the other night that go right along the length of the road, the only difference being one goes just up to the Whipps Cross roundabout (sensible) and the other goes just over the Whipps Cross roundabout a difference of about 300m over 4.5-5k (pointless when there's the other one).

Aim was to have a leisurely spin in today, until I'm passed going over the top of Barnes Bridge by a young fella on a Focus Izola, spesh shorts, red rucksack. He's swift and effortless with it, paced me to a PR on Castlenau. Quick chat (or gasp on my part) at the gyratory, he hasn't even broken sweat!

Good lad. Over to you Asprilla :)

Bagged a few KOMs and 2nd/3rd overall yesterday on the club ride. One in particular is very competitive, so not sure teh KOM will stand for that long there!

There's a bloke I've started following, Tamas Heyges, who cracked a KOM up Old Kent Road this morning, along with a 3rd Overall and an 8th Overall. No achievements showing on his Activity, which is a bit strange...

I also had a KOM equalled by 2 people - the first no notification, the 2nd a notification.

Hope Strava not a bit ill?

Problem with London (and Richmond Park) is that there are so many segments on each commute it seems to regularly throw a fit. I've discovered some KOMs & good rankings I didn't know I had thanks to one of the 3rd party reporting tools. It's annoying. IMHO Strava need to crackdown on Segment duplication.

First Sprint Triathlon today, with very little in the way of prep and not much skill in swimming (just a 400m indoor effort thankfully) or running.

Swim was fine, nothing impressive at 9mins for 400m.

Bike was quite hilly, 1000ft of climbing in the 20k. Managed to get 7th quickest of 131 though, so pretty pleased with that given that I didn't kill myself to get it. Guess it shows triathletes can't ride bikes ;)

Run was fine, nothing impressive at 26mins for the 5k.

Quite enjoyed it I think, even if I am breaking one of The Rules.

Yeah, the bike let me know it was upset with me for leaving it and going on a run too and snapped its chain later in the day. Fortunately it snapped at the top of Sevenoaks rather than the bottom as it's a couple of miles of uphill with no pavement. Was quite thankful to be able to coast down to the station to get home.

It's all well and good telling yourself you're just not built for the flats when you get rinsed by more or less anyone taking it seriously on embankment, but occasionally proof that I am better going uphill than I am on the flat is welcome. Nice to see I'm up there with the big boys for most of the climbs I've given a good go.
