Would the wheels look daft with Bontrager Aeolus 6.5 Decals (red/white)? or just leave as is?

Jesus Christ! What's up, or down, with that stem? Is that riding position actually comfortable, especially with the saddles tilted up slightly? Besides the odd looking front end I do like it though.Road - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12777154&p=16943702#p16943702

any pics of you riding it..? I would pay to see that.....0

hey that is my riding position! I need the saddle like that to actually sit on my sit bones instead of the bit between my legs. Gives me leverage to pull on the bars with each pedal stroke. Very Very comfortable. My legs are super short thats why I need bars so low.
I apologise for not conforming to the NORM.0 -
This has got to be a joke, funniest bike I've seen for ages.0

No need to apologise mate, if its comfortable then that's all that matters, i can't honestly imagine or believe that it is though. I've never seen a bike look so odd before, you must have some weird body shape! On the plus side though at least you'll know when the tread is starting to wear down on your front tyre!Road - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12777154&p=16943702#p16943702

As for the wheels, i'd personally leave them as they are.Road - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12777154&p=16943702#p16943702

thats gotta be a joke lol, saddle pointing up and bar ends below the wheels?!? This must be just to send stem haters crazy lol0

Ok it's official......that's the most insane thing i've ever seen.
Stick this thread into the classifieds.....i'd pay to see a picture of you on this and on the drops!!!
:shock:0 -
Any chance that you can post a couple of pictures of you on the bike?
In the drops and on the hoods?0 -
Couple of things:
Decals - put 'em on and have a look. Take off if crap.
Front end - kinda reminds me of Boardman's Lotus bike from the '94 Olympics, where the bars were kinda right on top of the front wheel.

Do you ride this thing on the road? - in my estimation you MUST be basically looking downwards at the road and can actually see about 10ft in front of you. I too would be interested in seeing some pics of you riding this. Makes me think about when a chimpanzee rides one of those little bikes at the circus. I have short legs (28" inside) and my riding position is nothing like this. The only disability in life is a poor attitude.0 -
haha. too good0

My eyes are burning. It's like my anti-bike, complete nightmare.
Enough has been said about the position. BUT i must add, that bar-tape ranks amongst the worst along with Cinelli Splash (IMO). And Cinelli Splash is almost an exclusive feature of old beardy mens touring bikes. This is giving me the shivvers.0 -
Can we have a photo of you riding it please......
I almost bought the SL..... then another deal caught me eye. Looks really good... .shame about stem
ATB'Ride hard for those who can't.....'0 -
And I was worried when I posted my road bikes picture that people would take the piss out of the seat angle - now I feel a lot better.0
-
Unless you have some very unique posture requirements this will not be doing you any favours in the long run. If there's ever a time to recommend a bike fit I think this is it!0
-
OMG
I didn't know they made stems like that. Is this some sort of track bike?
Crimmey, I don't think people are taking the wee wee here they're just genuinely shocked
You must look like one hard Mother Fooker riding this beast0 -
YAY! People are entitled to their opinion, I'm not arsed. I stretch for 30mins every day to get used to my TT bike so this position comes naturally just to be a bit more aero as I find it really difficult to get in an aero position on road bikes even in the drops. Ekimike has a point about the bar tape. Black or white? Admittedly today was the first ride with that stem but I used to use a 35 degree one. I did have this stem on my commuter though. Was a great ride actually, comfy 100 miler. If people really really wanna see me riding it I will post something later in the week as I'm a bit of a loner on my bike as noone wants to start so early...a vid maybe. I took a piccy and my Garmin track to show that's where I took the piccy today.

 Amazing
Can't wait to see a pic of you riding this beast. If Batman has a road bike I'd guess it would look something like this.0 -
Forgot to ask, what are the wheels?0
-
That is an extreme setup that you've got there, it looks like the drop from the seat to the bars is even greater than on a pro's time trial bike, don't recall seeing any bike setup like that before - you must spend most of your time looking at the front wheel.
If it's comfortable then fair enough, but don't your arms ache from putting so much weight over the bars?
Got to see photos/videos of you on the bike though...0 -
Minimal weight on the bars. The saddle angle keeps the weight wholly on the saddle. I use the bars to pull on. The drop only looks bad because of the angle of the saddle? Its not too bad. Can tilt head up and can move my eyes in their sockets so can see more than just the front wheel.
The wheels are Fuerte Bici's 60mm carbon clinchers. 1625g ( F 716g R 909g). The hubs seem suspiciously like the PX light ones, seem very good. Very impressed with their first ride out today. I've had carbon clinchers before but never used the yellow swiss stops until today and the difference was amazing as I dont like descending as speed too much.0 -
Do you have a spacer underneath the stem? If you slammed it, you could get a less "hardcore" stem angle? Also - what length is your stem? If you had a longer stem, would you want to go down so much?
Mind you, if it works for you - fair play. You must be very flexible  !http://www.georgesfoundation.org

No spacer, Stem is 16cm. Possibly a cm too long, need to move shifters up a tad when I can be bothered so stem will befine bit still very useable.0
-
Wow that's mental but hey if it works for you then fair enough. I can't see how short legs explains those bars though, 6ft long arms might. I'm also surprised you don't get saddle related issues, you should be spreading your weight between ass and hands rather than all on your ass.0
