Mine's a little more aggressive than Sketchley's - I've got a less angled stem sitting flush with the headset. There's also a decent seat to bar drop.

    Really, really pleased with it.

I still love the Equilibrium. Might be the next stage before the Enigma (albeit there's nothing wrong with the Synapse - even on the bone-shaking surfaces of South Oxfordshire).

Sketchley - what do you carry in that saddle bag?

2 x Tubes, Tyre Levers, Multitool, Hand Wipes, Co2 Cartridge and Inflater, but it's not full. I can also get my phone + wallet or a chain lock in it maybe both. It's not that big as it is waterproof so has an outer layer.

  • Mine's also a bit more aggressive: 20mm below the stem (plus the obligatory 5mm spacer above - them's the rules), and a much shallower angle of stem. Again, my seat height is higher than the bars.

If you'd have asked me the same question, the answer would have been 'snacks - and plenty of them'. That's about the right size for my stash of Percy Pigs...

Ah, thanks for the rule. I have next to no angle to the present stem, but it just doesn't look sexy enough with it being so high at the moment. Will try switching things about and if I don't cripple myself too badly when I ride, I'll get the steerer cut severely.

Annoyingly I really do feel as though I have f*cked up with the length of stem and bar I've opted for, so if anyone's looking for some virtually new 3T gear...
  • Morning everyone,

Would anyone out there like to sell me a 60cm Equilibrium? (I'm 6'4".) I have some parts I could use on a build, so would consider a F&F; but I guess it's a complete bike I'm after.

    I'm quite happy to look at the 00, 10 or 20; 2011s or 2012s.

    Cheers,
    Graeme
  • Looks like I'm going to be the new owner of a shiny 2nd hand Equilibrium 20 (2011), hopefully picking it up Sunday!

Apparently standard apart from upgraded brake calipers (Shimano R650s), anything in particular I should look out for before handing over my hard earned cash?

Mrs won't be happy but had to go for it, coveted since I first laid eyes on it!

How much are you paying Porly? Personally I wasn't blown away by the finishing kit on the full builds, but like Tonye says, the frame really is incredible. I'm loving mine more and more every time I take it out.

No mate. Haven't done any yet. It's presently out of commission without bars or stem, but hopefully that will be sorted soon. It looks flipping lovely, though, and like I say, it rides way better than I expected - and I'd read the hype. My big issue now is what colour bar tape to go for as it is looking ridiculously black.

Yep. I was similarly underwhelmed by the full builds available. I ended up with a custom build over standard frame & fork.

Get some pics up, mate. We can compare our masterpieces.

  • I'll get some pics up when I get it home guys, fell in love with this bike the first time I saw it on a fashion forum I use at work (tarty I know) and was blissfully unaware at the time it actually had substance to back up the style.

Did some research and it sounds perfect for my needs - fast & comfortable on dubious A and B roads which sums up my commute and also perfectly capable on fast road rides which is something I'd love to get involved with when I get more competent (only started cycling in November but am loving it!)

Apparently has a few marks on the paintwork of the frame from where it's been locked against railings etc. which affirms what you guys were saying above. Doesn't have mudguards fitted so have a bit of a dilemma; put up with getting sprayed in the face like a japanese adult movie or risk detracting from the sheer beauty of the thing!

PS. the missus has already gone nuts after spotting the pricetag, it had better be worth it...

    Valves at 6 O'clock fail!
  • Very nice looking bike there, can't wait to upgrade mine some more

But for now, a very boring question, anyone know what size seat clamp the equilibrium takes? Managed to strip the bolt on mine and can't find a spare bolt that fits

Also, anyone know the stock weight of the equilibrium 10 2011? never weighhed it originally

29.8mm Seat clamp. No idea about the weight - built mine from F&F.

Tony - Lovely looking bike! Is that the 2010 frame?
