It's to Greenwich - from Welling. Park up in a building near the O2 (so not really Greenwich actually!).

Ride a Sirrus Elite - the black/white model.

Still getting bike fit and confident on the roads...

Mrs A is out tonight and my folks are picking The Mighty Pickle up from nursery; sounds like a recipe for a couple of laps of the part to me.

Yup, will be 3 of us in the park tonight so that will be 36 miles on the day for me. Feel free to join us at Roehampton Gate for 7pm. 2 of the guys are tapering for Marmotte so it will be relatively easy, ~20 min laps. I might even be the first one up the hills for once.

I did two laps in 23 and 20 minutes and and I'm jiggered. I'm going to pay for that tomorrow.

Someone came a cropper on Broomfield Hill; by the looks of things they locked up and straightened up, possible caught by the wind, and hit the left kerb on the way down the hill. There were 5 or 6 other cyclists stopped when I went past and I saw an ambulance leaving the scene on my second lap. Looked to be a girl who was sitting up and chatting when i first went past.

Learnt a new word tonight - "tapering" = 2 laps 38 minutes - slightly slower on the inclines but balls out the rest of the way.

Did the scenic route home this evening - 3 extra miles over the more direct route but about twice as fun :-) Will have to carry on with that for rest of the week. Have a route that adds about 1 extra mile in the mornings but I'll be putting in some proper mileage on Sunday - I've been roped in to doing the Bikeathon "Challenge" ride with some work colleagues as I'm the most experienced rider they know :-) 52 miles + another 12-15 getting there and back should do nicely!! I may even be able to add some extra miles as the ride goes via RP - up Sawyers first before heading out and then back in and through the middle. At the pace I'm expecting one of the people to ride I may be able to lap the park in the time he takes to get through the middle :-D

I'll be doing the scenic route home tonight. Via Keston! Assuming the weather holds off, that is.

Yup, two thumbs up for that one.

Does anyone else find it weird that The Met have so many cyclists who do so many miles and yet they don't really give a stuff about enforcing basic road laws to protect cyclists.

    It's just odd.

Do we get double points for cycling in the rain, and a few more points for cleaning the bike AGAIN! :?

Sorry if this has been asked already, I've not searched all 6 pages:

BUT. What's to stop an unscrupulous team (EG the Metropolitan Police) just adding (x) miles onto everything they log into the site? Surely you could ride 3 miles and log 45?

Our works team have GPS trackers at all times, so all their locations whilst working are logged on our servers every 10 seconds. Its then a simple matter to work out the distance they've travelled on any particular day and upload it. We add the distance from their home to their logon position (1st recorded GPS) and again from last position home again.

Possibly a bit anal but then we're a techy lot here :D

Just a pain I can't track them when they're not logged in but if they do w/end miles (say L2B) then they let me know.

Nice 30-miler in the bag this evening. Think I might do that route home at least twice a week. :D

An 80 mile jump start was unexpected. I'll pass you soon hopefully.

    I've noticed a loophole :)

"Can I log miles cycled on a stationary bike?

Only miles cycled outside can be logged.

    from the FAQs here

Take the turbo trainer outside ;)

Uh oh, looks like SKY are catching.

Feel like I'm lagging (61 miles so far this week) and the four day stag weekend in Bognor is not going to help at all!

    Sorry!

We should get the sandwich man on our team. Singlehandedly he has cycled 3316 miles, making his daily average 473 odd miles.

I think it's more than his tuna mayo sandwiches that smell fishy! :D
