Thought I'd just have a trawl though the Silly Commuter Stats table and pick out some names at random....

Now I know that some of may have more pressing business over the next month, but you are also some of the highest milers who record their stats on CiB's lovely stats table. We, and should we win, the charity we give any prize to, would be very grateful if you were to take two minutes to sign up and 30s to record your miles each day for the 4 weeks the competition lasts.

Go on, you know you want to be a part of history, don't you?

At least as many ups and downs as the Marmotte and all the training, but I'll get there in the end. :D

    Good stuff.

Btw, the email I received said miles logged after 9am on the first day count. 9am? In London? Do these people work half day or something?

Yeah, I know. That's no excuse. Why does that entitle people to start at 10 or 11am? No wonder the country's going to the dogs. Sheesh, honestly.

Now normally, I'd steer well away from this kind of nonsense. I have deliberately not replaced my defunct computer so that I don't sit there checking that I'm going fast enough or far enough, but I might be persuadable as it's for a good cause. I'll have to rely on estimates of distances based on googlemaps. Can anyone talk me in to it?

I've not decided whom to side with either

I might spread the love and cross over this year, while doing significantly less miles than last year I might add

Hatbeard did turn up to the Xmas Morpeth do, cunningly discussed IIRC with his beanie hat and facial fluff :-)

    DDDDOOOOEEEEETTTTTT!

Well, with such a carefully presented argument, how can I refuse? I'm away for a few days at the end of June, but otherwise, I should be good for 150miles a week. That dooya?

Well it was such a good bit of fun last year I thought it wouldn't take much selling. If you look over last years thread not only did we win it also encouraged a few team members to take the leap from commuting a few days each week to a full week or others to extend their routes to work/home (me included!) just to tot up some extra miles.

It's meant as a way to encourage people to cycle, so every little helps and I'd gladly welcome you to the team for the 150 miles a week your willing to contribute!

  • Just back from a wee tour of Brixton and logged on my first miles for this. However, I just noticed that your first miles earn extra points - does this mean that you earn these points with just your first mileage logged or is it simply for a set distance?

It's for a set distance. It's mainly to encourage a lot of people to do a few miles each and get into the habit.

BTW, it's not too late for others to enter and do a little bit for charity.

All we are asking you to do is log your miles, you can even do it in one go at the end of event....
