Yeah, pedals definately should have been white or black.
Looks bloody lurvely though mate.0 -
Very nice. I am also interested in the full weight of it when you get chance to weigh it.0
-
thanks for the comments guys there are quite a few colours on it atm, im thinking the gold chain might have to go, and as ive said the decals on the wheels and forks will be changed to green, and the silver chainring is only temporary to get it up and running, will be swapped for a black one when clee cycles have stock again. weight wise it weighs a little more than id hoped, with heavyish tubes its around 26.7, so when i go tubeless im hoping it will drop below 26, and the steerer needs cutting too, just left it so i can experiment with the bar height, altho it feels pretty good as it is. off out on its maiden voyage in abit, will report on how it rides0

Tabs24 wrote:forgot to ask above, how do you like your Hope tech X2 brakes i cant decide what brakes to get for my Intense Tracer, Tech X2's or Formula RX or Formula "The One's" if i can afford them
im a huge hope fan, ive had the old style 07 minis for a while now, and they just work so well, ive bled them once since buying them and they have been spot on ever since, and the original hope pads last forever, which ive found is never the case with avid, shimano or magura, so going for the x2's was a no brainer for me, more than enough power for my 11 stone, a few guys i ride with have m4's and they just felt marginally more powerful, but are alot heavier, the formulas are great tho, so it might be worth finding a few demo brakes with them fitted and see which you prefer0 -
Thanks for the reply, my bro has a Mojo sl thats running Formula R1 and they are awesome,
only problem i want all black brakes with gold hints so might have to get the bodies anodised
I could just get XT brakes but i want something a bit more...you know... special
if the chain is going, let me know as i think the gold would look sweet on my tracer0 -
ok so after the first ride this morning i have to say this .... fooking nora this thing flies!!! it accelerates like no other susser ive ridden, put the power down and it just flies, probably down to the DW-link and the mega stiff frame, which is another great aspect of the bike, it feels rock solid, and even though my local trails arent technical u can really feel the front end stiffness as you turn in, a couple of times in under estimated just hard this thing can be cornered, so far i feel like ive only scratched the surface of what it can do seriously impressed with the fox forks as well, they feel alot more controlld than the revelations ive got, perhaps not as supple over smaller bumps, but as son as the speed picks up they really start to come into there own, top notch fork 8)

all down to opinion arent they, i love them, and i reckon when ive got the black chainrings and green crest stickers on, they'll look even better, but its personall taste at the end of the day0 -
Seriously nice Lawman, I really, really like that.. you pretty much have my dream bike!
Where do you live please, and what times are you not in?0 -
does look nice though, and I also approve of the use of colout co-ordinated zip-ties.0

every little helps doesnt it
stav, no one other than myself has ridden it yet, and frankly im so scared of it being broken, thats not gonna change anytime soon, i even walked it round som of the muddier parts of our local trails today :oops:0 -
Very nice, however I do think your running your discs backwards, the saw tooth shouldn't face forwards as all sorts of crap can be drawn into the caliper, other than that, Awesome..........all

apparently according to superstar they're the right way round, and i built it in a hurry ready for this weekend, but they seem to work fine as they are0 -
beautiful bike. personally i dont think the white works, i would have gone for gunmetal and polished silver. you really have got me thinking about one of these though. reckon this would look nice

yep I've no doubt it will change, but seeing as the trails are drying out nicely and I have the maxlight as proper wet weather bike now, hopefully it'll continue to look as good as it does for a while I'm going to try it out on some of the more technical trails we ride soon, should be awesome to see how it gets on some proper trails0 -

yep had it's first ride on Sunday, didn't get to fully enjoy it for the last few miles, the spokes came loose on both wheels, like mega loose, so I've sent them back to builders to get them done again, and if they aren't done properly this time, heads will roll because now the suns out I have abit of spare time and I can't ride it, hopefully it will be sorted intime for a night ride at Cannock this Friday can't wait to take it to some decent centres, although I have to say I'm itching to get over to cut gate path and give it a real test0 -
With a bigger jobby like that you want to find some real steap challenging stuff. Work the bike. Gotta get mine up Machen soon for a real test only bump roud cwm afan and a few others on it over the winter, while the natural trails were slop0
-
Yer I'm hopin to get up to wharncliffe woods some time later in the year, and i've got a few holidays lined up for the lakes, it'll be ridden as hard as I can ride it, it's such a confidence inspiring bike, really balanced in the air and over drops, easy to get off the back for the steep stuff, and the dw-link is seriously impressive, it pedals better than most 100mm xc bikes I've ridden yet it just swallows the bigger hits without any worries, incredible stuff. I imagine your mondraker works in a similar way suspension wise?0
-
Nope.
My mondraker is like a huge sponge un-effiecient and sits low. :P but tis really fast on the downs, and just ploughs through anything that happens to accidently get in your way more like riding a turbo charged dumper truck.. I bloody love it.
To be fair to it it does pedal very well witht he boost valvue shock on the back but it's a total different approach0 -
wouldn't have guessed that, I'd heard that it pedalled really well they do look nice though, especially the 2011 ones, and they seem to be really good value, which is something that cannot be said of the supposidly "big" brands ... A trek rememdy 9.8 with similar levels of kit to my mojo is £5000  seeing that suddenly made me feel better about buying a flashy frame0
-
totaly.
And it does pedal well, for a 160mm 67degree bike, but there is only so much you can do for a bike of that size it's always gonna be harder work. On cwm i make it about a 5 min penalty on the route over my old specialized but it's way more FUN. and it can hold uplift days nicely.
I have done a few 50km trails on it so it can't pedal badly, but i think the Laquires pedal a bit better, it desends more evily
Sill I love the mojo, it is pure bike porn, Only thing that scares me is a Carbon big hit bike, but the reports are really really good on this it would be the one to convince me0 -
I actually think it's easier to ride than the maxlight, it climbs just as well, feels slot more balanced and isn't any heavier, admitidly if I put this spec on the maxlight it would be a super light 23lb all mountain hardtail, which would be great, but the mojo is just a better bike in everyway. I found proof of carbons strengths in the fact that the SC syndicate rode carbon v10's all year, jamie Goldman rode the rampage on a carbon v10 and uses a blur ltc for slopestyle, and I saw a video on YouTube of brian lopes on a HD down a-line in whistler, which more than makes it capable of whatever I can throw at it frankly0
-
LOL thats less that a nats nuts, my bike is 31pounds :P
Carbon is about wear not impact, Its stresses aong the surface and since its fibourous a scratch along the carbon can dmg the weave. So its all about sealent, For DH 1 disposable bikes thats cool.
But I met a couple of the older Ibis ridders last year in north wales, and they were pretty quick and there bikes had been going years, that filled me with way more confidence in carbon0 -
Hey Lawman, any further updates on how she's riding out on the trails? I'm thinking of building up an Ibis but not sure the geometry meets my needs. Would you say it's more XC than All Mountain? Not too sure on the idea of carbon.
On a slightly cheeky note, I see your icons a guitar player. I've got a Ric 360 (6 string semi-acoustic) and a Cornford Hurricane amp for sale http://bit.ly/i7GW2b if you or anyone else is interested - I'll certainly be needing the funds for an Ibis!!!0 -

hi crundi, she's riding like an absolute hooligan!!! took it round cannock for the first time last night and its by far and away the quickest bike ive ever ridden round there, both up and down, which is incredible, i knew it would be good on the downs, but jesus on the climbs for a bike of its travel its truly fantastic, could not be happier with it, well a few more green blingy bits are still needed and will be added over time once the wallet recovers geometry is definitely on the AM side of things imo, but its a touch steeper than say a whyte 146, but feels comparable to a zesty and a meta, so its super stable but still very flickable. as for the carbon, i dont even think about it, i was worried at first but after riding it like a muppet last night, carrying far too much speed most of the time im pretty convinced that carbon is the way to go for trail bikes if you can afford it.
as for the guitars im set with what ive got atm, im seriously poor as it is, and i very nearly sacrificed a guitar to build this, ive been told i'm not to spend anymore, but ill ask around and see if i know anyone whos interested
got a photographer friend of mine to take a few quick shots yesterday afternoon, certainly alot better than my poor old efforts

I went round Cannock for the first time last weekend, me and the lads were very impressed with the new trails especially the last decent! I bet you scared yourself silly on a few of those swooping drops!
Your mates taken some cracking photos, he should come round and shoot my guitar/amp that I have up for sale!0
