Rode out to macc today and started the ascent upto the cat and who should I see in the distance other than the legend that is Bhima! Rode up next to him and had a good chat on the way up, he was on his 4th rep and managed to pace me up to KOM on stava. Nice lad who jus seems to love riding his bike as much as anyone else.0

Ask him anyway...the worst he could say is no!
I'd offer to put him up but I don't own that much muesli!!!
He can do Carlton Bank 5 times instead!"A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

So you actually caught up with him? From all the talk on here I didn't think that would be possible for a mere mortal!0 -
I rode with Bhima today, he was taking it steady, he said he'd catch me up so I crawled the first mile of the cat waiting, in the end I just decided to push a bit up the cat.
He does seem real strong at the hills, we was doing 10mph up some 10%+ hills and he was just talking fine not even out of breath.0 -
Just spotted Bhima's name on the start list for the Buxton mountain TT. If his numbers are what people say they are then I expect he should be challenging for a top 10 at least.More problems but still living....0

a_n_t> Take it thats an alias for Micheal Hutchinsnon, Brad Wiggins or Stuart Dangerfield.
Matt Botterill is no slouch I ve ridden against him and would be more than happy to get that close on a flat course, let alone something like the Buxton TT.
None of the claims on here have been made by Mr Bowden himself (Well not this time round) and anyone who can be the subject of a 16 page thread they dont contribute to is a legend in my eyes.0 -

Alias? No. My name? Yes.0 -
Wow! Good ride by Willhub!
Looks like Bhima had a mare.Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

I was a bit disappointed when I found my time, the first lap was OK but then faded by a minute then blew up on the 3rd lap even though I thought I was pacing it OK, did not go up the climb full blast. I've never got to the end of a tt where I almost fall off my bike with dead arms and legs, my effort was under 10 mile pace.
Bhimas times did not fade too much.0 -

The more you post, the more you sound like 'thick tester'.
Interesting debut, for someone reckoned to be capable of earning a living as a domestic pro/elite - sounds like it went a bit like I suggested. I feel sorry for the poor fella - shame he got hyped so much0 -
Turns out Bhima did several reps of the C+F before the race!
Good effort Will. You weren't for behind those on top guys TT bikes with deep carbon rims/light wheels etc. I think you may have found your niche!Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

I could have used a TT bike but thought against it as I can't get up hills on it.
Bhima rode from Macc and I'm sure the only rep he did was 1 up/down. unless he did some afterwards.
I nearly had to ride out but got a last minute lift, my plan was to ride up the A6 to Disley and cut across to Buxton and try to keep it steady, potentially even walk up some of the climbs. But I'd have had to get up so early I'm so thankful for the lift I got!0 -

good plan - shag yourself out before the start of the race. You were his biggest fan earlier - are you now his apologist...?
You're not still fishing are you?

Just making a point fella. 'NapoleonD' ripped into me on page 13 for expressing an opinion (which ironically turned out to be correct). And now, the forum's own self-appointed racing and training expert doesn't even have the balls to acknowledge it. Anyway, point made, like I said. Don't worry yourself though - I won't embarrass him any further.0 -
Crimmey did it too, you know, the guy with the outrageous bike position?
Turns out he must have seen sense and got a bike fit?

Yeah I saw, but he was on his TT bike. It still had a really low front end. In all his photos he looks like he's smiling heh heh.
Looks like it was a really good event, I may have to play out next year.Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

BTW Will, you'd LOVE the beacon Little mountain Time Trial. I was hoping to do it again this year but couldn't get leave. Again, hopefully next year...Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

And all credit to NapD for showing some belief, rather than hoping for a fail.
Rather than not acknowledge, perhapse NapD and others have learned to ignore your nasty posts.Pinno, מלך אידיוט וחרא מכונאי0 -
I don't want to get involved in the NapoleanD/Pseudonym tiff, but I would like to know how a guy that is touted as having the FTP of an Elite performed so poorly in an event that should apparently have suited him. It's no wonder that people are less than convinced about his abilities when on the occasion he does an event he gets beaten by guys (some of whom I know) with FTP's of much, much less.More problems but still living....0

I never said or implied anywhere that I was 'hoping for a fail' - although I did say it was a possibility. There is a difference, as I'm sure you can appreciate. Belief is usually misplaced, especially when it's based on a lack of understanding - and 'NapD' bigging up the poor fella in the way he did is a good example of that.
A bit like Amaferanga though - I'm wondering how it happened. After reading this thread, I was genuinely expecting top 5, or maybe better...0 -

Me too. He has SRM's so he'll have the power data. Seems odd that another guy I beat in a 10 last week beat Bhima yesterday when Bhimas FTP is meant to be 100W more than mine!
Something doesn't add up.0 -
Maybe his SRM isn't calibrated?
Maybe he had a bad day?
Maybe he's only good doing a 20 minute effort followed by 10 mins recovery repeatedly rather than sustained pace?
And yes, I just ignore pseudonym's posts completely.Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

Maybe he ran out of honey/bananas/milk?0

Except it's not embarrassing for everyone concerned. Disappointing yes. Embarrassing no.
Especially considering he was doing short 22min 10 mile Tts on a not particularly fast course on a road bike with tri bars and bottom of the range wheels last year.Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

Now we're splitting hairs, I see. Such a shame when someone who likes to dish it out gets upset when they get some of it back. You started on me, remember..?
Congratulations to the moderator who deleted my previous post, by the way. Perhaps you would like to send me a PM and explain what rules it broke.0
