    OK you make a fair distinction between aggression and gambling. But I don't think your argument that conservative can be the inverse of aggressive (in your terms) holds water - clearly you could be both aggressive (in your terms) AND conservative - your example of Contador attacking at summit finishes being a case in point. The inverse of aggressive would be non aggressive - not conservative.

    If we go with your definitions on aggression and gambling then really we have to reserve conservative to be the inverse of gambling. As you admit Cadel isn't much of a gambler you seem to be agreeing with me that he is a conservative rider - which was the crux of my point - yes?

    it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

    One thing is for sure - the scenery was simply spectacular. Just watching the heli-shots up and down the Gavia as well looking at the photos is quite breathtaking.

    No other race parallels this one.
