Sky isn't carrying it in the UK? What's the point of sponsoring a cycling team there if that's the case?

    Huh?

Why you only advertise to your customers?

Sure but think about what sky is. They're advertising to cycling fans because they want them to watch sky instead of other satellite or cable companies. So the cycling fan's going to say, "They sponsor a team, oh cool, I'll bet they show a lot of cycling on there!" But if they then see they don't show even the races Sky's main rider (wiggins) is at, you think they're going to get Sky?

You have to distinguish between Sky Sports (little cycling) and the Sky platform (Eurosport available)

If the choice is a straight one between ES on Sky or Virgin Media, maybe lots of fans will switch to Sky cos of the sponsorship.

Simoni with a bike change. Just a question: wasn't that push from the mechanic twice as long as usual?

Also, Garzelli is ahead by 26 sec at half way.

Pozzato takes of with "Smoke on the Water" hammering out over race speakers.
    Psychological warfare!

Maybe they should get to pick their own start music, a biy like in wrestling. Wiggy would choose a track by the Jam :D

This has been covered quite a lot Don, but Sky can't get the rights to most of the big events as their sports channels are pay services.

Eurosport is carried by Sky though, so most people who watch it are already Sky customers.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

    Question for everyone:

The 20% comes at 7.5km, the 24% at 11.5km. If they were switched, would the 20% be a harder section because it comes so much later or would 24% still be harder?

He's far enough down now that he might consider getting into a break. Maybe...

Having ridden up la Redoute on weekend, I reckon the steep bit at the start is harder because you know its all to come, whereas the steep bit at the end you can safely go anaerobic (i.e., faster than 6 kmh in my case...) because you know its the end... if that makes any sense?

Deceptive. It was Peter Weening who looked like he wasn't moving.
