I've run a small club in the past and it was pretty successful, since I've been throwing the idea about my head, and posting it in my blog, I have had a couple of guys show interest in the idea.

The club would be based in the North West of England (Bolton, Bury, Chorley, Rochdale etc) and will cater for the over 30, relatively unfit, casual roadie who just wants to get a little fitter with similar people. If the idea takes off, which I suspect it will if I put the effort in, we could develop into something quite nice. We'd be looking at weekend rides, Sunday morning starts, around 11am until we all get out of puff and fall over gasping for beer.

Support car/s from significant others are welcome!

So if you're interested please post in this thread, or send me a PM. I'd prefer there be a few people interested before we meet, at least then if I do turn out to be a crackpot you can hogtie me and run away. Internet safety and all that jazz :)
if you ever plan on riding through southport let me know and ill meet up with you guys!

steady rider - Think dcab was thinking of doing the wednesday ride to be around my neck of the woods, so Rufford/Croston is on the cards if you fancy it?

Morstar and Bunneh - the 2 ladies who were at the finish as i landed home were defo not of pensionable age - they got my seal of approval (I was going to say they would get Bunnehs seal of approval but as he has no standards, well a pulse perhaps, so wouldnt have said much). Anyhow was a good day - does anyone have the link for photo man (not that he will have uploaded yet) i have lost it.

    Hey all any decisions yet?

dcab mentioned cycling over west lancs way. Steady rider seems up for that. If me and him set off from Rufford say 6:30 ish and met you guys on your way over from Chorley - poss Eccleston way?

Not entirely sure on a route - possibly from there head Croston/Mawdesley/Rufford - my fave Parbold Hill over and then back towards Wrightington - where we can split, and the Chorley gang head off and Steady Rider and me head back? Thoughts?

Bunneh i've been toying with the same idea for one in Cumbria as most of the clubs up here are mile eating one's, maybe we can join up and combine the two clubs as quite a big Northwest thing. I used to run my own website so kind of know how it all works p.m me see if we can work something out with this. I enter sportives but thought there were no clubs for anyone just starting out and can only do short distance. Brian
