Had a jager bomb for the first time the other day. Its not too bad. Just redbull and jager. But a can of Redbull with a bit of Jager in it is much better. Jaeger tastes like cough syrup so its nicer with more Redbull than in a shot.0 -

A set of these for The Panzer after I pringled my rear wheel at BPW casing a jump
Good excuse to upgrade and go tubeless. May also get a new rim and spokes from Superstar so I have a spare set, it always pays to be prepared"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
Nice wheels. how did you case a jump at BPW? Other than the pro lines they are all idiot proof (I have proved that myself!)Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Embarassingly, I didnt pedal fast enough off the ramp at the start of Dai Hard and caught the rear wheel on the wooden edge. My own stupid fault as I should have walked down to take a look having not done it before, but couldnt be bothered and underestimated the gap. Could have made if if I had just pedalled a bit harder
So not all the jumps are idiot proof ! Luckily the tyre held air and the wheel was not quite rubbing the frame so we carried on till 4.30"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -

That is embarrassing, I have seen a 12 year old on a old Stinky 2-4 clear that by so much he landed to flat!
It is more of a gap than it looks from the start ramp, it's a good 15 foot.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
I have just ordered an Anthem X2 !!!

Like I said, all the more annoying that I could have done it easily if I'd taken a minute to walk down and look at it. Instead I listened to mate #1 who did it then said 'don't overcook it'. Look on the bright side - I now own a set of cut price Deemax ultimates and mate #1 is the seller...maybe he felt guilty.
I have heard that the standard YT rims are a bit soft - the fact that the wheel buckled but the tyre held maybe says something?"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
Aren't they Alex Rims? They use quite a soft alloy. On the bright side they don't crackTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Am probably going to get a Superstar cheapie replacement wheel as well as the Deemaxes, then I have a spare set just in case."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -

But I also want a set of Deemaxes and half price is too good to turn down "I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -

£1550 with the evans trade in thing. Cost of bike I'm trading in... £0. Can't wait to get it and head out and about, moving to Wales soon so it'll get plenty of abuse, hopefully get some xc racing done on it too. It's not the lightest bike around but it'll do the job for me. Especially once I've got my nice hubs rebuilt with some decent rims, should shed a noticeable bit of weight. Then hopefully, in a couple of years, if it's still intact... Tour Divide time with it0 -
TKM about time.
Mr Bird of the angry variety, it looks a bit flimsy for waleslandshire?0 -

Nah! It'll be fine probably (hopefully)... It'll take a decent amount of abuse but should climb nicely and be pretty efficient for getting around on. Aiming to put in some monster rides on it so don't want anything too big and burly to lug around. Besides, it's not the size that matters, it's how you use it0 -
Been saying that for years!
In fact every time I go BPW on my covert0
