Many congrats on tiny parasite person! Ours is now 4 and off to school in September. He is not strictly a parasite any more but does have monetary, physical and emotional hooks in us! ;)

That's a lovely shot Corriebee. Don't worry Menthel when our first was born the FD said "Don't worry the first 25 years are the worst." About 10 years later he asked if I remembered the comment then said "I lied, it's much longer than that."
Our youngest starts secondary school in September, I feel really old.

    2000k cycled this year!

If the boy isn't able to stand on his own 2 feet after Uni, I will be having the umbilicus surgically cut! ;)

  • Forget all the fuss about the first 25 years.
My 37 y-old daughter is now living with us, she can't even keep up with a 63 y-old on a bike.
    Must upgrade user name !
    Still luv her though.

    Nice one Corriebee,

We'll get together shortly to compare our ever decreasing bank balances and our ever growing collection of baby paraphernalia.

marvellous ride in this morning, just a gentle pootle along the shared use path, then with the kids being off the roads are dead

everyone seemed really happy, even the normally scowling dog walkers

    ahh commuting bliss

You're wasting your time mate. We're meeting up in The White Horse atop Blackstone Edge; first one there sets the agenda. MsM - don't forget to bring Helen Skelton along, as agreed.

Good luck MSM, hope it goes well. Tell him he'd better treat you right or else your motley crew of t'interweb forum based stalkers will sort him out. Or, at least we'll send him strongly worded emails criticising his spelling and grammar.

You're all so nice, I don't think I would be able to choose between you all!

I met him at lunchtime for a drink because we were both off and had a lovely time - he really is very nice and normal. I got the bike wrong - he has a vintage tourer, not a hybrid. Is that better?

Incidentally, CiB, I rode up Cragg Vale yesterday as part of my home - Mythlmroyd - home loop, and I can report that someone has already distance marked it from the bottom to the top in kilometres ready for next year's Tour. Additionally, they have gone along the whole road and spray painted every single pothole that needs filling, every grid that needs levelling off, and every crack that needs filling (oo-er!). It's going to be a heck of a job as they had numbered them and I think there were eighty-odd.

Would have been nice if they had resurfaced the whole lot, but lets face it - it's Yorkshire folk we're dealing with. Short arms, long pockets....

It's not just Yorkshire folk that are like that. The roads around here have plenty of spray paint marked potholes, including one 20 yard section that has all the potholes taking up the entire 20 yard stretch individually marked for repair

I always wonder whether the workers who come to repair the marked parts have a worksheet detailing the work that actually needs done or do they go by what has been marked.
