I actually overtook someone going up the Itchen Bridge last night!

Was really in a lazy mood last night and I have developed a recent hatred of hills (Itchen Bridge route is my flat route home). Was thinking I'll just plod up slowly and walk up the last bit if needed but found some energy from somewhere and cruised past another lady half way up. Not bad for my old carrera, panniers and a 5 month bump. Made the last bit of the ride soo much better.

So now we have two commuting babies on the way? Congrats! (and the same to Ruberto too!).

Man, I need to get cracking on this baby thing...

I dont know what all the fuss is about, I am finding it all quite easy really. :D

Hmm. That's not the problem. George Clooney is taking his time letting me know when he's taking me out, and those babies don't make themselves...

Congrats! Our little chap arrived in April. Was v worried about becoming a Dad but it's been amazing and I've still managed to keep up the riding.

@IP: that's quite an attitude your lad's striking in the first picture. He looks like he means business. :)

Anti rant of my own: I seem to have contrived to set myself up to ride down to south Devon to meet the Mrs and nippers on holiday the week after next. First proper non-commuting ride in what seems like forever, and it's a biggun; just need to get the bike in a slightly more serviceable state as as it's proper lumpy down there.

7 Days without smoking. Whoop Whoop!

Still on the Lozenges, but reducing the numbers that I use daily, with a view to being nicotine free within 7 more days, and I went for drinks on Friday and Saturday and I wasn't even tempted.

Come the end of the month I will have save nearly £200 and that is going towards a new frame for commuting as the Peugeot that I had planned to use is just a bit to big...

Congratulations. Flippin'eck that's a pile of money on fags -- how much did you smoke?

20 a day (well i was buying a packet of 20 every day virtually) so not a massive ammount but not an insignificant amount either. They are £8 a pack!

When I was a kid I remember going into Haddows with Mother when she bought both her and Father's cigarettes and it cost them iirc £300 a week. And that was 25 years ago.

Even though Father is addicted to those e-cigs now and buys the refils weekly it's still a lot cheaper than their 200 fags a week.

This time tomorrow I shall be over the Atlantic Ocean on the first leg of my honeymoon.
Miami first then Maui and finally L.A.

I am particularly looking forward to seeing my brother and his daughters for the first time in a few years and some mountain biking down a volcano in Maui.

Oh yeah, and spending time with Mrs EKE.

Had a day of work yesterday, that in itself is not worth an anti-rant. but the reason why I did is.

Went to the Hospital with Mrs Toe, for a 12 week pregnancy scan! Whoop di fookin Whoop! she is 13 weeks and 3 days pregnant and neither of us can stop beaming.

It does however mean that I am going to have to find a new home for the bikes, as the shed (spare room) will soon be a nursery. Ahhhhhh who bloody cares!

    Happy Happy Happy.

Just spotted this Rubbertoe. Congratulations! The Mrs In and I are also expecting our first, due on New Years Day. She's 19 weeks today, so we're a bit ahead of you. Perhaps we need to resurrect BBB's gushing Daddy-to-be thread!!

Mind you, half the reason for having a pushchair is to carry all the paraphernalia that goes with small children - to start with, this weighs more than the child itself.
