I'll need a very narrow time frame for any eye crossing. I'll get a headache otherwise.

    Good luck.

You have got to stop sniffing saddles MsManc, you'll never make a career out of it. :)

    Good luck though

Evans, Reading store; went in there to see if they had any of the screw / inserts to attach the rear hanger back to the frame and was presented with a pair with no charge.

I like the guys in there. Always been helpful. Hoping the 25% discount in the Telegraph at the weekend, will allow me to repay them with some decent purchases....

In work tonight and was listening to the rain hammering down on the roof at 20:00 and not looking forward to the ride home, luckily come 22:00 the weather had improved. As I got within 50 yards of home I felt the first spots of rain, 30 seconds later it hammered it down. Perfect timing.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Sorting out the garage for the movers and I found a case of 2005 Haut Medoc and a case of 2005 St Emillion that I'd completely forgotten about.

Cycled in today for the first time since I got doored. That's over 7 weeks ago, I'm knackered but happy. Had to take the MTB with discs and took it really easy at first as I still can't pull the front brake very hard. Feels really good to be back on two wheels, although the EPO isn't very happy about it.

EPO's are never happy, when I crashed last week, my EPO didn't want me back on the bike. I don't think they realise how much we love it.

I bet the fitness has fallen away dramatically

Thanks guys. Asprilla if you see me wheezing across Kingston Bride just before 6 try not to laugh.
I knew the EPO would worry, she was so worried I offered to change out of my cycling stuff and drive. She told me not to as I was obviously desperate to get back on and she would worry whatever. I did text and email to let her know I'd arrived in one piece.
Fitness has fallen away enormously, and my knee is giving me grief inspite of pootling.

Weird - that conversation never crossed our minds. If it had the obvious response is 'so what? Falling off once every few years doesn't change anything'.

Well done Asprilla and well done Veronese.

My second bout of physio (after the first, sh1t one) has finished and it seems to be making more of a difference this time. I've been doing my exercises as told to like a teacher's pet and he can apparently feel a difference in my legs already.

Also, I came back from sunny Lanzarote to discover the council are doing a full dig up and retarmac job on our road, no 'chip and seal' rubbish for me. That should get me a few more MPH on the big hill, wonder if I can manage 45mph......

Basically they kept painting their own cycle paths in the town till the council gave in.

Unfortunately Brighton Council is painting Cycle Lanes all over the place yet everyone hates them for it

Just check out any Brighton Argus story for the absolute hate that a cycle lane produces!

Low speed incident tonight- car failed to yield to me on a roundabout. Fortunately antipication and pub bike meant that I stayed on and the Mercedes has a lovely dent and scrape along the driver's door; pedal has micron coating of German paint.
Also had the pleasure of cycling past 1 & 1/2 miles of stationary traffic, thanks to rain-induced landslide on one of the major arterial routes out of town.

Oo, nice route. I met a guy on his way to Warwick from Lichfield a few weeks ago!

I don't know if this is the way you're planning to go already, but this http://goo.gl/maps/XkKeP is where I go when I've ridden from the parental home to Cov, once you're on Cornets End Lane the speed limit is 40mph all the way to Cov, so it's a bit better than going up the NSL/50 bit to Meriden. If you need to be on the south of the city then going through Berkswell is a pleasant route too.
