It had been cleaned and ironed.
Ironed ????

Turns out my Aldi bargains were even more of a bargain than I thought as I wasn't charged for the tin of GT85 I put on the conveyor at the checkoutI've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

It's October and still warm, dry and sunny and I knocked out a nice little 100 mile loop along and around the Thames. Man, there's some beautiful towns and villages in that part of the world
I started with s/s and arm warmers and summer bib shorts but was able to ditch the arm warmers mid morning. Finished with a few beers on Wimbledon Common too, what a dayFCN = 40 -
Reported a fly tipper 2 months ago to the local council, caught him in the act on video. Been meaning to chase the matter up but had a phone call from the council officer dealing with it and the culprit admitted it. Result is a £200 fine for himI've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Just reread it and it's a mini keg (5l), so I think I can handle burning the extra calories myself, but thanks for the offer of help.Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

bum ... ok
there was me doing a warm up last night with a pint of a nice local ale ... would've quite happily helped you with that - but yes - 5L, that's an evening's drink isn't it ...0 -
redvee wrote:Quite a few car drivers in work were late today cause it took them 30 minutes to drive the last 2 miles, felt quite happy telling them I could do that same distance in 10 minutes if I went slowly.
Same again today so might venture that way myself tomorrow and will no doubt find the roads clear. Even if there is nose to tail traffic, there is a nice wide cyclelane/SUP for me to use and wave at all those stuck in traffic queues.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
I have surpassed last year's mileage (to date) by 3 miles.
2219 vs 2216, plenty time left to crack 3k0 -

It's on its way to me. It's coming as bright as well, so going to have to be drunk real quick. Shame :-)Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

Managed to ride in for the first time this week due to working from home and Bushy Park was open, had to stop and watch a stag chasing a female round in circles across the path in front of me. Thought it safer to wait.0

Been lovely this week, lots of roaring from the Stags and far nicer than the road. remarkable amount of walkers/runners still!0 -
Only half the bike racks were full today outside Shoreditch Town Hall. It was great for a change. Wonder what happened?0

First bike ride in months, and it was pouring with rain.
I was nice and warm, and actually enjoyed it. Although my legs now hurt, and the return journey may mean I need to put wet clothes back on! But still, I will enjoy that as well.
Cycling is awesome!0 -

I ran in across Richmond Park the other day - I try and steer well clear of the stags but there was one that I didn't spot and gave me a bit of an adrenaline boost when it bellowed right in my ear to FRO. I did.0 -
On arriving home yesterday I was going to get on with some tree pruning before dinner ... but my son (16 months old) presented me with my lid ... so I went and got his lid, put shoes & jumper on him and took his balance bike out side and played on that for a bit ... The trees can wait0

Ordered the SLX M675 brakes last week for pick up from Halfrauds.
Screw up on price occurred between point of order (screengrabbed) & receipt of email that I originally missed, so queried with CS while in store
CS confirmed price I ordered at is different to price I'm being quoted, apologise, speak to manager, knock another 10% off.
Then added BC discount. And the paid with pre-paid gift card bought at 10% discount.
Bargain!

I'm not one for award shows or celebrations of celebrity but it's been brought to my attention that its the National TV Awards soon and its sponsored by The Sun. This dying rag has been giving Gary Lineker a lot of stuck recently for suggesting that we show some compassion for people fleeing a war zone.
Anyway, Gary is up for one of the awards. Wouldn't it be terrible if The Sun had to present Gary with the Presenter of the Year award? Oh look, the winners are decided by an online public vote.....

I was planning a similar price match/BC discount/prepaid card discount combo on a Garmin 520 so good to see its possible. Makes for a decent saving overall0 -
My anti-rant goes for good weather, and light bad weather.
I love good weather. A light breeze, and a light chill to work up a sweat to with the sun over head, and the day completely dry as well. That way if I want, I can just take my bike off the road a bit, and lay down and relax and stretch a little bit on long rides.
But I also like slightly bad weather too. A light little drizzle, some light little thunder. Swirling clouds above, but the sun barely breaking through. Still a little bit chilly, still a little bit windy.
Essentially I just like the way the wind blows across the midwestern plains where I live.0 -
still on the weather related anti-rants.
I loved the rain this morning, I found it revitalising .. I had already been up for 2 hours and done a workout on the turbo .... but getting on the bike, waterproof, shorts and heading out in to the pitch black with the freezing rain on my legs and the glare of lights reflecting off my glasses ... the sudden soaking wet feet as I hurtle through a totally invisible puddle. ... The panic as I take the long sweeping bend at 26mph remembering there are 5 drain covers in the middle of it, I cant see them and I don't want to touch the brakes ....... the steaming up of my glasses as I stop at the lights,
Just loved the commute in the rain0 -
I'd like to thank everyone on the A27 between Lewes and Falmer this morning for staying in the right hand lane giving me a completely unimpeded drive in along there this morning in the left hand lane0

I rode the IOW Giro on Saturday. Just three of us but we were blessed with a mild, dry, sunny day and a tailwind for probably 75% of the route

Nice one! Do you have a .gpx of the island section, or is it a standard route?
