Likewise; Karma indeed. I think I'd have stopped to take a few pictures and smiled a lot whilst doing so.
Here's hoping his insurers reject any claim he might make on the grounds of his abject stupidity, demonstrated by his driving into a flood.
The local TV station had footage earlier in the week of cars driving through flooded sections, and one had obviously stalled and gone for a restart. Engine likely to be toast within a few days.

Don't worry, it's all on video I hope!
I might have rubbed the salt into the wound by cycling past him through the ford at (50cm deep, so er, whoops, very wet bike/legs/shoes) to say "get out of the way, your holding up traffic"...
And yes, the bike will now need a proper clean tonight!

I think it was your duty to do that, would have been disappointed if you hadn't. Like that story a lot.

Police have advised to keep the video private. At least I've got the benefit of "proving" who was driving at the time of the agro, since they were stood at the drivers door as I went past :)

You can do that and share the YT with us on here, we won't tell anybody.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Note to self. Dont' do this again. It might have contributed to a lot of shifting issues, despite a "complete" clean - just realised this yesterday evening.

You should have used his conveniently placed vehicle to bridge the ford :)

Would prefer to have done that with today's bike fitted with spiked tyres :)
It was a stupid decision, given the nice pedestrian bridge over it I was planning on taking, costing me money.

Driver (and, more importantly, her insurer) just admitted full liability for my crash back in July. Now I can start to source a replacement for my L'Etape in earnest. :D

Well that was a lively, and lovely ride home.
Got detoured around my normal route due to flooded roads where even the bridge over the ford was flooded out.
Meant a much longer detour, cos I wasn't going to put up with the idiots on cars, so went very rural, and got semi lost. Total route home normal 8.2 miles over 30 mins, covered 15 miles in 50 mins. U
Add that the roads had been mostly washed clean by the downpour (although still wet and on roads covered by trees, there was still some road mud) and it was warm and dry, meant a crackingly enjoyable ride.

Sticking the rear on daylight flashing mode for 100lm in the fog did the trick. Was feeling very nervous, but drivers were actually very good this morning!

that new bit of tarmac heading south from Stockwell lights to the bottom of Clapham.

luvverly and smooth and much nicer than the potted, cracked surface that was there before.

Yep. Slippery recently though with all the crud on the roads.

There's new tarmac along Lonsdale Road from Hammersmith Bridge towards Barnes Bridge and it makes such a difference from the ploughed road there was before.

Broke my chain yesterday.... about 30 yards from home.

Fortunately had another donor chain in the parts bin, had to pop an extra link in it (so 2 quick links), was back on the road within 15 minutes.

Discovered that work has an agreement with a healthcare company for those that earn points through activities.
Cheekly exported the summary of last years worth of riding and uploaded. Instant 20% off everything in the store, and that makes it incredibly competitive for some things, but it's quite limited in the cycling realm

Phoned BT to dispense with all the crap we don't use on our account. Wasn't hassled to take on more services. Operator didn't make a fuss and reduced what we pay for broadband. All done in a few minutes. Gobsmacked.

Sad that getting what should be a baseline of customer service is now cause for an anti-rant though.

    Couple of Anti-rants

Nice ride back from the pub last night - despite being sub-zero - clear skies and no wind made it a pleasing ride.

Contacted Sky to cancel our TV - don't watch it enough to warrant the cost - but happy to keep the broadband - they 1/2'd the cost of the broadband and telephone for a year and means we keep the basic Sky+ on freeview - all for less than just cancelling the TV - so I just need to cancel the TV next year instead.

Prius uberist coasted past with about 6" to spare, almost soiled myself... Caught up and had a word at the lights. He apologised profusely and said he saw me, but didn't realise how close the pass was. Can't imagine a black cab driver having such a response.

Bristol city centre buggered cause of roadworks meaning slow queueing traffic, weaved through it all making a mental note of any outstanding vehicles for later in the ride. One HGV I noted caught up with me 5 miles later.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Currently there's only two of us in work that can do a job, the other guy is on holiday for 12 more days and I have rest days in that period too so it looks like I'll be working on those days and getting in 37.5 hours of overtime.
