All that entertainment provided free of charge, other than your ticket price of course.
I'd keep quiet about it though, everybody will want the same!
They can have the same - they just need to get on a Barnsley train!Faster than a tent.......0 -
Avoided the enforced overtime that most of the shift was told to do. Scalped an E-bike uphill on the way home, cause I leave work at 22:00 the chances of seeing another cyclist is very rare other than work colleagues but they're despatched within the first 5 minutes. Got to the bottom of the hill and the rear lights of a bike were ahead and game on came into my head, watching the other cyclists smooth progress up the hill made me suspicious but the 8" dia rear hub gave the game away.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Going up The Wisp today (very steep hill !!) driver in a landrover pulled level ,wound down his window and said "Bet you a tenner i beat you " had to laugh but nearly fell off ,still it was better than abuse and it put a smile on my face!0

Top quality banter!0 -
Clear blue skies, a bracing wind, and nobody on Embankment (didn't have to slow below 20mph Lower Thames to Big Ben)0

Had a really good tipper truck driver (Walsh) behind me from Waterloo most of the way to Vauxhall and have to say he was very good to sit there through all the many pinch points whereas I was expecting him to try and squeeze past me. Refreshing. Gave him a big thumbs-up to say thanks. That's the kind of thing we need in London. He got past me once the roads widened but I had caught up again once he turned off Into one of the developments on the waterfront at Nine Elms.0

Refreshing to hear!
I also try to give a thumbs up/wave to any driver who obviously takes the effort to be careful.
What does annoy me is that those drivers behind the careful one then have to steam past because they were held up for, ooohhh, all of 10 seconds by the car in front of them.0 -
Cycling home on Friday afternoon and got pulled over by the bizzies.
Hadn't a clue what I had had done, but thought I'd better not gob off, just in case
Anyway, he jumps out of his car, and proceeds to reach in the back, where upon he presents me with a hi-viz rucksack cover, saying it was part of a campaign they have going.
Tried it this morning and it doesn't fit my courier bag very well, oh well it would be churlish to complain!0 -

The boy saw his new bike today and with a look of disgust said "can you take those plastic bits off?", pointing at the dork disc and reflectors. And he also was pleased with the red colour- they go faster!RIP commute...
Sometimes seen bimbling around on a purple Fratello Disc or black and red Aprire Vincenza.0 -
Brilliant weather and rode in late to work today; it's so much nicer with lack of traffic - passing Tower Hill/Col de jzed at about five past ten and at Big Ben 6m:35s later; it is just so nice to be able to stretch your legs when there is less traffic on Embankment. Average (with a stop at red) over 20 mph and hit 30 on a few occasions.
Seriously thinking about changing my hours through the winter.0 -
Shitty day at work, really hacked off. But what a lovely evening, and a beautiful ride in this morning. Unfortunately left a smidgen late and had to be home on time so no extended ride home.0

Got out of work 2 hours early, albeit unpaid, could have taken the time off as holiday but that would have meant trying to work 5.5 hours holiday into a working day at a later date. Much simpler to go unpaid.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Condor have just tweeted a picture of my new bike! Its soooooo pretty! Picking it up later this afternoon.RIP commute...

Much better 8)
Quite the looker, and tyres/sidewalls add a nice finish.
What disc brakes are on it - TRP HyRd? (got BB7 Road SL's on my Tempo)0 -

Yep, HyRd brakes. The tyres are there partly for the bling, partly the 30mm and mainly because they are not gatorskins!RIP commute...

Once I get my hands on the bike I will have a look at see what size tyre would actually fit under the guards. I suspect these may well be at the top of the range, given my discussions with the condor peeps.
I would love a single speed (no fixed for me- my knees would explode) but the wife would go bonkers if more bikes appeared! I need to get rid of the molton my uncle gave me and replace it with a brompy though- useful in so many ways!RIP commute...

Been given "permission" to go on a week long cycling trip to Calpe in March 2016. A last release before married life begins in May!0

Back on the bike for a commute today ... seems like a long time ago since I last managed it ...
Family life getting in the way - can't wait till I can take my little man with me on a road ride0 -
Got into the canteen for my meal break and a work colleague took great delight in telling me I'd missed the free cakes earlier. Bought my dessert and sat down at a table and found a £1 coin on the table meaning a free dessert for me too.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Had a discussion with a mopedist tonight. Back street in Hammersmith, road calming chicane and I hear his lawn mower whine bearing down on me. I adopt the usual tactic of getting in the middle od the lane so he doesn't squish me against the kerb. He flies past regardless and my hackles go right up.
Next junction I see he's stopped and watching me. We pull alongside and he gives me the "you're taking up too much space, you're only a cyclist" line. Red rag, but slightly lost for words. The only thing I could think of was "I AM A ROAD USER". (Note to self, think of a better line for next time).
His reply? "I was only thinking of your safety man innit"
Wind well and truly out of sails. I was prepared for a battle against the only true enemy but ended up wanting to give him a hug.....Waterloo - White City

Anti Rant: New job starts in a few weeks. Will have a proper regular place of work for the first time ever, which means ..... return to biking to work!
Rant: I think I'll be in the same office as Wrath Rob and that is only going to hurt on the commutes. What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?0
