  • joshtp/mbukman That's what I was thinking too. My white grips are already mucky and I've not even ridden the bleedin thing yet.

blister pus I really like that Ragley saddle, but the same thing applies, is it not going to look minging after a couple of rides? I agree that white/orange looks best when it's fitted, but will it still look best 2 months down the line or will I be wishing I'd gone for the black/orange one instead? Do you know how cleanable the ragley is?

Cheers for the link jay12, Biketart sell the white/orange one.

I know my giant two tone silver saddle suffers from the same grime-y looking problems over time but scrubs up absolutely fine after a good wipe down every so often. I guess it depends on the material each one is using, my giant and WTB ones are highly synthetic wipeable type things
  • Ah, I've just done a quick google of the cheeky saddle, and found a short thread on the place that shall not be named where someone who has a cheeky, in white mentions about how it''s still white after being covered in crud. In the picture he supplied, it does look like fairly wipeable material, rather than the pourous leather the spoons are made from.

I think we have a winner!

I shall be ordering one of those in white and orange very shortly then. Cheers very much.

if that's the case with them then I think you've got a clear winner there too. And I've heard good things about the saddle's comfort for a while now. Look forward to seeing it on the ride now!

    The Dogs Hangers mate.
  • Lush bike.

I'll take your charge spoon off your hands if you do manage to get a replacement

Drop me a PM if you are interested.
  • Great looking bike.

How about the 'Custom Grip builder' on Superstar Components site? You could have orange grips with white lock rings and end caps for £10.99! They'd look pretty pimp :)

I've just got black with white for my Fury and I'm impressed with them.

(oh, and they came with Haribio...)
  • I looked at the superstar grips, and they're nice, but I'd not want anymore orange up front now. With the bars and the shifters that's plenty. Besides, I do like those Ergon grips, they are really comfy, just need to get used to the lime green locks.
  • Just had a nice conversation with Adam from Biketart.com

They are in the middle of moving into bigger premesies at the moment and due to a c0ck up on their ordering system, the saddle I ordered was actually out of stock.
    Bad times!

He has however offered me an upgrade to the Ti railed version for free if I'm happy to wait a few days for the new stock to arrive.
    Good Times!

I've found Biketart to give the best customer service of any retail firm I've dealt with. Very friendly and quick to reply. I keep meaning to ask if they are going to Radar Live. If you wear one of their T-shirts you get free Biketart Cider!
  • Update:

Bad times, turns out Biketart had actually made a mistake, there is no such thing as a white/orange cheeky saddle. Ragley have never made one

Question now is, do I go for the black/orange one, or the white/black one (they say the Ti upgrade is still on offer if I want it) or do I cancel the order and wait for the white/orange spoon to come back in stock at wiggle?

that's a bit of turkey arse.

I'd be tempted to go with the original charge spoon white / orange badge.

    Simples

Black and Orange (white ones are an ar5e to keep clean) with the TI RAILS

actually the white and black Ragley could work. and you've not got the cleaning problem. and white would fit in better with the front end.
  • I reckon Jay might be right.

I just think that with the white seatpost, the wiggle one would be too much white.

As for Biketart, it's fair enough tbh, it's a simple enough mistake to make. They spotted it fairly quickly and made a good effort to make it right. I can't really ask for any more than that.

Have now confirmed that I'd like the Black/Orange Ti one.

not convinced on a black seat on it but it's one of them suck it and see jobs. still maintain it's gonna be tricky gettin' this one right so you're 100% happy with it visually.

but GHill is right, the componentry is spot on so the ride will be sweet.
  • I know what you mean. If the black/orange dosent work, I'll see about swapping it for white/black. If that STILL dosent work, I'll have a look at the white charge one.

Just ordered some Orange bottlecage bolts, orange headset bolt and orange dust caps too.

Going back to the chainstay protector, I tried to lighten it using bleach, first off, a little bleach in boiling water. result = Nothing.
Next, a bit more bleach in a bit less boiling water. result = still nothing
Next, neat bleach poured directly on it and scrubbed in using a nail brush then left to soak for 4hrs.result = STILL nothing
I've now given up on that and will just be using clear chainstay protector from now on.

I know it will get minging very quickly, but how about a white protector?

    The charge ones are nice?

my brother has a clear sticker protector on his roadie, it looks very bad and it doesn't clean off. neoprene chainstay protector FTW!!

iv akwats thought the charge chainstay protectors look nice... maybe a black one, or, lke TBC said a white one (although it would look mingin quick...) a clear one would be OK, if it stayed neat... (doubtfull) maybe a clear silicone one, if such a thing exists.
    I like bikes and stuff
  • Just ordered a White Charge chipper. It's synthetic leather top so it should be not too bad to wipe clean (in theory).

DAMN YOU PEOPLE MAKING ME SPEND MORE MONEY!
  • Ribs feeling much better today, off to go get her filthy tonight.

I'll be sticking a black CRC chainstay protector on until my new white one arrives.

Here she is kitted up for night riding (awaits flaming for using crudcatchers  )

I am absolutely gutted though, my Bender Fender wont work with my Pikes
