    Re June slow ride.

It's a 100 miles for me but well worth it !! I promise.

Same here....have had a look at the vids on you tube and can't wait ....especially the long descents .....including the one from the gliding club......':D'

hi steve could you send me the link to the vids on youtube as i'm undecided weather to come or not

hi caz if i decide to come down it'll be for the weekend so we could meet up and stay at the same campsite, so what is the campsite that you have found?

Caz, check these guys out. I was looking at this for our meeting point as they have bike shop/pub/cafe facilities but Mike says the routes work better starting in town. I think this is only a couple of miles from where we're starting tho.

If you've never been before I would say it's well worth the trip mate. The sections I've ridden don't flow as well as somewhere like Llandegla but the overall ride is a lot tougher and more technical than there. And the full Red is about 24 miles :D

    Guys,
I don't know about camp sites but the Tourist Info at Church Stretton will guide you and B&B's abound in the area. I'll bring some marked up copies of OS maps with some ideas for further rides if any one wants to do another ride on the Sunday.

How slow and unfit can i be?

I'd like to come along to the Cannock ride, the wife bought me an amazing bike for my birthday/xmas but I haven't been anywhere other than local bridleways.

I can get up hills.....slowly with a 200bpm heart rate and I'm fairly unskilled but very willing!

    Thanks

    Nalla,
you'll be fine, I have been out 2 times with everyone and I am always at the back, pushing uphills, they'll wait for the last one, it means they get a reast really ;)

You'll be fine mate, as Caz says, the faster riders wait for the slower ones to catch up, nobody has been left behind. Keep an eye out for the meeting info which should be forthcoming very soon.

    What bike you got?

well do you think i'm taking this sport a bit too far as after servicing my rear shock i needed some sort of workstation. So i gone out and got one and now i'm nicely set up now.

    What bike you got?

Thanks both, I'll do a few rides in the meantime to warm up :)

As for the bike, id been saving for ages for a Zesty 314 and had finally got enough and she asked me to wait, Next thing i know i get a shiny Zesty 914! .
So all the gear and no idea basically, although I've been having fun out on my own i think it would be fun in a group.
    Looking forward to it!

ok MEETING PLACE for the 15th will be....

    Marquis Drive

i will try to find the correct post code, cause the one google gives me take you a few miles away

in the mean time here is the coordinates
    52.73640209020312,-1.9968295097351074

this should take you to the road just outside the visitor centre. the visitor centre does have a carpark but for a few feet you there is free parking on the side of the road

the reason ive chosen here instead of BV is that we can start off without going straight to ftd which will be very busy in the morning or a big long climb.
its also better as a bbq destination with a bbq area

here is the link on google maps

    http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=en& ... 11cca7c88c

also by riding from here it means we do the last section of ftd in the middle of the day when people will have more energy to enjoy it

the bbq . it might be best to watch what happens weather wise next week and we can decide mid week if we want to go for it or not
