Not too bad chuck........a bit in thought tonight as my mate from work who had leaukaemia passed away this morning.........':('

The sponsored ride i'm doing was dedicated to him.

Its his funeral on friday, he was in liverpool hospice for his last 2months (i went to see him at weekend and he could hardly talk)

Everyone at work has been very quiet today. i am going on friday not for myself but also to represent all at work who can't go...........

This group has given me back my enthusiasm to get out and ride and I'm loving getting out to new places and pushing myself to ride into the unknown. Riding into berms at Llandegla and not knowing what was around the corner was exciting when I would usually pap myself at the thought of it!!!!!

    Bring on Cannock :D

I am even now motivated to take on the council and find out what can be done to improve MTB riding in the area. I know that there won't be the possibility of anything like the established trail centres because there's no fekkin hells around here, but I'm going to see the guys that run the 3 bike shops in the area to see if they know if anyone has already tried this and if they would support the formation of an action group to look into the options.

    Cheshley ,
For ideas, can you coax your beloved into having a day out in Kendal?

There is a bike park just outside the centre with low northshore skill, see saws and things,
It's something to take photos of for ideas to put to your council if you lack the hills but still need the skills :D

Good on yer Ches.......our local council were going to build an mtb skills area on a small hill about 5mins from my house but local dog walkers protested by the droves and the council gave up the fight.....i woudn't mind but i ride there as its a good training area for me and the dog walkers just let their dogs shite everywhere !!!!!

I even went to the trouble of tracklogging all the paths and editing them on open street map.

I supppose the dog walkers see it as a place where the dog wardens won't see their dogs dropping it all over the place so they don't get fined, i have been in touch with the council but it goes in one ear and out the other...typical sefton council.

I know the feeling Ches, i'm running a 2litre auto petrol and it's a thirsty bugger for fuel, but on the motorway it's quite reasonable......

thought towards sharing cars is often uppermost but when everyone is spaced far apart it becomes difficult.

When we went to the peaks it took half a tank of fuel , roughly around £35 there and back.

Llandegla was not far off the same.

It's a joke when for £35 of fuel Gov; tax amounts to around £20.

Oh go on then ....rub it in.......i only have myself to blame for the car i have, but up to now i woudn't swap it for anything (unless i won the lottery of course)

It must be the leather interior and seats !!!!!!!!

    Or the cruise control !!!!!!!

    Or the climate control !!!!!

Or the..................ok i'll have to stop here......
