    that is one fine trail
im not sure phoeian should ride as his head might exlode there is some of the best downill sections ive ever ridden and some really technical climbs

id been for a ride yesterday so my legs wernt up to it today but i did it anyway :)

didnt make most of the climbs (due to no energy in legs) but have done them before

caz cover your ears for this next bit (i think its better than llandegla)

oh yeah they organized a ride for the volanteers with oli beckinsale so i got to go on a ride with him

it's not rideable yet, theres another week 2 weeks of building to go , then a couple of weeks weathering, then it's opening :D...shouod be done and open for early may.
I'm going for another snoop at it next week when I go for a play in the woods.....can't bloody wait to ride it.
The big park at the bottom of the hill is linked to the woods with a cracking bridleway and in the park is a small sandpit/ quarry area that it used as an unoffical bike park now, and if all goes well with funding and council intrerest ( as they seem to be getting more interested) it will be made into a proper bike park, jumps, berms and general skills stuff.
the trail in the woods at the top of the hill is just a first phase development, i believe there may be more in the pipeline at a later stage :D
I'm not spoilt am I

ill remember, in fact it was going through my mind whilst riding it yesterday, especially cause i had been for a ride the day before and used up all my energy
i did the last part of that ride on empty and i hadn't recovered for yesterdays ride
so i was riding around it with no energy, i couldnt do many of the climbs at all, as i remember before christmas i could do nearly all of them

i think everyone could do the monkey but it might take some time, this brings me to another consideration point, when to do it

    the afternoon
now this is my original idea, most of the traffic will have gone of the trail so there will be less having to move out of the way for faster riders, but some energy will be gone and we wont be fresh

    the morning
fresh legs, but more traffic on the monkey
i will consider this some more

oh yes it is truly fantastic
it differs from welsh trail centres in the fact that there isn't a big long climb at the start, its more of a climb, along, descend, repeat except the two last bits which are a challenging climb followed by a best of breed class descent, that are way better than other descents ive ridden
everything is rollable, there are some black offshoots but these are extra features and not the main trail, more like a short 100m diversion
most of the climbs are are of the switchback variety so a trail will slowly wind its way up the side of a hill, some of thes can be quite long, but if your going up a long climb you know your going to have a descent that makes it all worth while
there are a few wooden features but nothing that you wouldn't find on the red run at llandegla, (though no log walk)
there are a few tricky rock gardens but they are only short little pieces and only a few of these might be a little daunting to some of our riders
the new end to follow the dog is great as well, i might incorporate this into mays ride
but as it takes us all the way down the valley im not sure cause it would mean either a hard fire road climb or a section of road riding (this misses out the climb)
as i ride the trail i will keep evaluating it for the ride
another benefit of the monkey though is it rides well in all weathers
