I'd probs have walked bits of it, we've got a mini beast 15 mins ride away, but it's greasy cobbles, really hard to ride on an XC hardtail, it's like pinball alley lol

We were lucky I suppose as it was very dry yesterday, it would be a completely different kettle of fish if it was wet.

I might go try the mini beast out again this week, see if it's dried out...get my practise in lol

Does anyone had a gpx/tcx of the route you guys did? Need to expand my horizons a bit. ALso is it near a train station where you started from?
  • Did anyone walk down the Beast?
    Caz xx

I walked the biggest part of it and rode a tiny little bit. My confidence wasn't ready to be carried off in an Ambulance :)
I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike :)

All I was thinking on the way down was "wonder if I'm going to eat the trail". Glad I did ride it though :P

I feel I have to push my luck otherwise I'll never know how far I can go!

I think you can download the gpx from bing maps, not sure if you have to register first. But the route we did is here

Not sure why it wont link :(

I'm a bit gutted about losing my little video cam after watching how well your videos came out, Really loved all of the downs yesterday and would definitely go back!

Closest station is Bamford. If you use Ladybower Inn as the starting point for the ride it's probably about 2-3 miles from there.

Excellent pics and vids posted guys.

Si, once again proving that you are a complete nutter

Keven, knowing those hills like I do, I know exactly where every one of your pics was taken. Kinda makes me feel like I was there with you.

Glad you all had a great day, looks like the weather was kind and the trails look a LOT drier than they were when we were up there in February!!!!

    Frosty,

We are meeting in the Co-Op car park in Church Stretton, there are three car parks around the Co-Op we are to meet in the larger one opposite the Co-Op this is the one with the public toilets in the far corner.

Way back in an earlier page on this posting Cheshley very helpfully put a multi map link in, seeing as i'm technologically challenged I cant' be arsed :)

You can't miss it though, I'll be there from 9.30 am and would like to get on our way by 10.00am, we have a big hill to negotiate  before the fun starts.

    Where is everybody?

I see we've not been top of the forum for a while. :o

I have ordered up some blindingly hot and sunny weather for Sunday so who's coming? 8)

Better make sure that in addition to Roo's usual list of spares and tools we bring plenty of sun block

So in the usual way can we add names to the list
