I'm glad i did the ride rather than watch the football, although some of the comments on the radio on the way home about the England performance were comical.

Lovely long descents but bloody hell you have to work for them! :D

Pain is temporary Pain is temporary.... all that was going through my head and some points... but the descents more than made up for it especially the sound of ticking brakes at the end of the second one...

The title of the thread has changed again!!!!!!

Meeting details still have to be confirmed but I have talked to Dave about bumping the start time to 11am due to the distance that people doing the trip from 'ooop North in one day will be travelling.

    Over to you Frosty.

if you had a kind other half it would be possible to run your own uplift service down there
get them to drive you and your bikes up to the top (i know you can get to the glider field) then meet you down at the town, rinse and repeat

    Hello everbody peeps....

Thanks for a great ride on Sunday everybody... and some super pics Mike excellent job.

    Right Chilterns 25th July

I'm planning a figure of 8 loop centred on Wendover village thats about 6 miles south of Aylesbury and 40 miles outside of London village on Chiltern Railways out of Marylebone.

Mike has definately raised the bar with last weekends efforts so i will try my best to live up to it.... perhaps with slightly short ascents (would be hard to find longer that don't involve sherpas and oxygen bottles though....)

Kev Tammi myself and shhhh (Mark) are gonna do a dry run at 0900 on the 11th to finalise the route if anyone fancies popping along.

Meeting point will be the train station car park in Wendover at 11am on the 25th (apparently because the northern monkeys have to feed their whippets before they head south and gives time to check their visas and passports.

Usual rules apply... IF IN DOUBT READ PAGE 1 OF THIS THREAD where brother Cheshley of the Doncaster chapter spelled it out so beautifully.

What facilities are at the meeting point? Is there a charge for parking? The car park looks full on Google Maps, even at this time of night.
