dont forget your spares on saturday
bring at least 1 spare tube, this inculdes those who are tubless
if your not tubless you might want to consider bringing more
i know one of the descent were doing claimed at least two punctures amoungst the group i was with last time i went down it
    a pump maybe even a co2 cartridge
    power link
    tyre levers

a spare layer, this is the peaks and weather can change suddenly (probably best some sort of waterproof)
water, there might be a couple of places on route to top up but carry enough in case
food, you need to make sure you have enough in case your energy goes
a mobile phone (please get at least two of the groups mobiile numbers, just in case)
money, you might park in the layby and abvoid the carpark fees but you never know if you want to buy a drink or something to eat on the way around

Just been browsing an Evans Cycles catalogue and for those people who aren't entered in the BHF Dark Peak Challenge Ride (it's on the same weekend), there is an Evans Cycles Ride It event at Cannock Chase on 9th October.

Just thought some of you guys might be interested.

Just be aware that Mobile phone reception in the area is sketchy at best. Anywhere in the Upper Derwent Valley and you're pretty much on your own but once you get into the valley along which the A57 runs, you should be OK.

    Lee

Lee, some of the group are heading into the Peak District on Saturday and we have a group ride on the 27th in Shropshire around Long Mynd. If you're on Facebook check out the 'Slow Rides for Unfit People' group and you'll find all the planned rides have their own event page with details of when and where.

I will be attending said ride tomorrow, if a nuclear/chemical/radiological/biological bomb is found, the last place I want to be is next to it anyway.

I am looking forward to the above descent.
if you like that you'll love this one
this is the second desent we will be doing (the lockebrook one) its nice and long and one of my favorites, plus if we like it and have enough energy left there is a opportunity at the end of the ride to do it again
