Bummer, mine overheated yesterday morning, our lasses dad stripped the water pump out yesterday afternoon and is putting the new one in as we speak. He's also changed the glow plugs, water temp sensor, alternator belt, A/C compressor belt, oil, oil filter and air filter while it's been in bits.

I've helped by making lots and lots of coffee as required. :D

One day at a time Roo, one day at a time.

As of today I'm officially out of Saturday's ride in the Peaks and I'm doubtful for Long Mynd next weekend too. Not impressed.

yeah thats the correct code, but for some reason google maps says its on the opposite side of the reservoir

here is the cordinates for the visitor centre
    +53° 24' 3.21", -1° 44' 35.60" (53.400891, -1.743221)

for those that are interested in such things here is the original mbr route for saturdays ride

    http://6pvvxg.bay.livefilestore.com/y1p ... jpg?psid=1

you will notice that the mbr route starts at the ladybower in, but we will be starting at the fairhomes visitor centre carpark (near point 4 on the map)

i did have the altered route that chesley suggested mapped out on bintg buit for some reason its not remembering it

i will draw out the route we will be going on later, but that route there is basicaly it
the main difference is the starting point on the route and the slightly different way up after we pass the ladybower inn

  • Cheers roo

If riding Ladybower (we're there on Sunday) we normally cross the dam and turn right, follow the trail (wide) along the reservoir (Pt1 on map) and then where you see a wooden bench go up on basically singletrack up to the Roman Rd at Wooler Knoll. Cuts out a fair bit of tarmac road, Then turn right at Hope Cross, down the Beast (BRILLIANT!!!!) and then follow the route as described, last descent of the day being Suicide Brake, which should be VERY fast at the moment! 8)
