No problem with a Macclesfield starting point.

No matter where the ride goes, some people are going to be disappointed due to the distance and terrain, but we'll do our best to accommodate everyone!

The last ride was hard at times, but mostly a lot of fun and full of great people. And like I said - everyone made it up Mow Cop, so all things are possible!

You'll have to fill me in on the race - I will want to do it!

How do you know you'll be working that Sunday this far in advance?

Go on then. What are you doing on March 7, 2012?!

Send me the deets of the race. I have my trial in Ireland the weekend before, so may need to get some early racing in to get ready for the big season!

Yeah - but it's the SUMMER Olympics. March is not summer.

    Olympics are 27 July - 12 August 2012.

    On Wednesday March 7th 2012 I'm on a 0600-1600 shift.

Not got details of the race, it's on the BC website though. It's a 3 race series.

I'm looking in to getting cover for the Sunday so I can do this ride...

You're an absolute star as it wouldn't be the same without you! (I've got a disability race on the same circuit on the 20th of March. I might just join you on the 6th to check out the course).

I sent you a PM on FB about this Monday. What's your schedule?

I'm on nights Sunday so should be free in the afternoon.

    I'm doing the races on 6th, 13th and 20th.

Just looked at the map - any chance of cutting off before Warslow and heading to Longnor and the hairpins up from crowdicote? Loved that last spring when I was camping up there.

Could you redo a route on a mapping site for all to see that includes this? I'm intrigued...

After a nights sleep I am considering backing out of the run & doing this.

It would be good to put some faces to names & I am doing a charity ride a couple of weeks later & don't want to muck up my knee by running!

Running is overrated. Cycling is the NEW sport of Kings. Plus it's a great chance to see the infamous Bhima live and in action!

    20 miles south of Manchester.

The M1 is east though, surely 20 miles south of Manchester would be like 50+ miles from the M1?
  • I'd be up for it, need to get on the trainer some more first though.

I would have joined you, but I am not in Crewe that weekend, bit of a shame.
  • Count me in......I should have my commuter by then (Butler Dalesman) so hopefully I wont get left behind on the slopes :)

south manchester base here...so a start within 15/20 miles will be good

altyteacher - you doing the etape again this year?

No Etape for me this year Poppette - Off to New Zealand for Rugby Tour on Tuesday 20th! I am returning to Ventoux at the end of May though - Am toying with the Cingles, but at the very least will re-do the etape route from Sault. All depends how the next three months go, but at the moment, it looks a lot better (and nearly 10Kg Lighter) than last year!!

I might be up for this, will have to start sweet talking the wife now and see how I get on. No doubt it will be an epic fail, like last time.

It could make sense for you to travel with me depending on where the meeting point is.
