just bought a Kinesis Pha5e from ebay for just £150!!

Rough plan:
about 140/150mm Marzzochi fork off ebay for under £150
SLX double chainset,slx f mech, slx r mech, deore cassete,sram chain,deore shifters
hussefelt stem, sunline v2 headset, fsa seatpost, fsa handlebars, saddle(most from ebay to get everything as cheap as possible)
then use brakes, grips and wheels from current bike for the time beeing
i want it to be tough but also quite light as well
btw this is my first ever build. i hope i enjoy it

niiice man! big step up from your raleigh, you'll notice no end of improvement!
As for forks, what's your budget? i'd really reccommend getting some used pike 454's if you can, they can be had for around 200 notes in good nick if you keep your eyes peeled.
Oh i just ordered that SLX double crankset the other day for my scott, got dispatched today, can't wait0 -
i don't want too spend much at first tbh. i want to get some revelations later in the year/next year. anyway some marzocchis will be 100000000 times better than my current forks0
-
haha fair enough, try and get some marzocchi Z1's or something then, anything older than 2006, the newer stuff is crap.0
-
Definately need pics when it's finished, I just hope you don't keep me waiting as long as I did for you to have pics of the Blur!
Building it yourself is briliant fun and extremely rewarding. You'll have a great sense of achievement when yuor finished, any Q's just ask, I'm not a pro or anything but I've built all my bikes I've owned as an adult.0 -

Nice one Jay!
Is it just the frame that you have bought? or a dated bike to upgrade?
I recently built my first bike and it's awesome riding something completely unique
Can't wait to see how it goes, god knows you have earned it riding that Raleigh!0 -
jay, a guy is selling some revelations in the calssifieds get them he wants 180 quid i think0

Kiblams
i have bought the frame and will be buying bits and also for the time beeing use some bits from my current bike.

Nice move Jay - all the best with the build, you'll love it, (assuming everything arrives on time and fits... )
I'll look forward to seeing it.Now that we are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. ROMANS 15:10 -
Excellent news Jay, think the pha5e will be the ideal bike for you!
Will be good to see others drool over your bike thread rather than the other way round for a change
Looking forward to seeing the pics0 -

thanks everyone for the kind comments
n.battison:they are a bit too big.
ok anyway it arrived today and it looks absolutly amazing. it's light, the hydroformed bits look like a work of art. the frame needs facing and when i get the headset, chainset(comes with bb) i will send it off to the lbs to fit them. and also it looks better in real life

Looks very nice, I like the gloss grey colour - should go well with pretty much any fork you find too which is good.Santa Cruz Chameleon

Frame looks good. I find that TT is a better measure of whether a frmae is the right size than ST.0

This is true, to an extent (about as far as the seat post will extend)

my local LBS guy has the battleship grey Pha5e with some fancy raceface chainset / drivetrain-ery and kit going on and it looks the dogs bollocks. Should be good Jay.0

shame you couldnt get the frame with the bridge between the seat and top tubes but that is an ace looking frame, ive been sorely tempted to build one ever since i started riding.
im looking forward to seeing the build.0 -
