Edge 25 is my backup computer - its nice and small and does the job. Nothing special, no bells and whistles but a solid unit.

Its quite old now though - I havent followed but quite likely there is better around these days.

Battery life is really good though - dont know if you do all day rides but if you do that is important.
  • Anyone tempted by the Full Monty SL and London Road SL framesets? They were £300 yesterday, with SECRET15 reducing them to ~£255, not check if offer still on today.

Oh no, I've been eyeing up a XLA-SL frameset (also on discount) to build up a cross bike with but I just can't do it now without being crucified by Mrs Totale...

The Dolan rdx is on sale for £225 (has been for a while in fact), it has a full carbon fork and takes flat mount disk brakes.

That seems rather a better option to me. In fact mine is arriving today :-)

Endura FS260 Pro Jetstream Jersey for £24, needless to say one is on it's way to me.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Damn, itchy trigger finger over that, especially with an extra 3% via TCB.

Just being targeted at "race" tight...

Maybe not as much of a bargain as it would have once been, but the Vortex is on CRC and Wiggle for £209.99 - plus various discount & Cashback options that may be open to you, would easily land it for sub £200.

Bargain! It's probablythe cheapest it's ever been? Shame CRC/BC discount isn't as good, but you'll still get it for sub £200 easily.

Does this have pannier rack and mudguard mounts?

  • Trade in an old helmet, bike or scooter to get 20% off any bike at Halfords.

    At £800, I'd almost definitely choose https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/ ... nture-bike over the https://www.decathlon.co.uk/triban-rc-5 ... 54421.html or https://www.decathlon.co.uk/triban-rc52 ... 54425.html for the proper hydraulic brakes.

However, the Boardman has an FSA crankset, which although it is a useful sub-compact 32/48T means that it wouldn't fit my Shimano Hollowtech II 4iiii power meter.

I could be recalling incorrectly but I feel like they offered that bike at £800 before.

You might be right, don't remember it being that low myself, but my memory isn't great... For a lot of bikes, the 20% trade in price takes them close to their best promo prices eg. Marasa £320, Bizango £520 etc.

Most likely. I've bought "bikes" from the tip for a £5 before and taken them to evans for a discount, assuming Halfords do the same.

Can you get BC discount on top of that and is it available on sale prices too?

I suspect this is the discount you can get anyway, hidden under a different type of promotion...

For those of us that work in the city the Evans in Mark lane is closing down (a la sports direct) and has 20% off everything in store.

Looks like it's out of stock now, or someone realised the error.

Wiggle have found a box of Vittoria Paves in the back of the warehouse and are selling them at £22 a pop:

Would do a nice job right now or hoard them for next winter.

Paves are the perfect all year round tyre. Great price for a great tyre. I don’t think I can get away with a 27 though, which is a shame!

Hmm I'm running 25mm Open Paves on my Scott CR1 and they are excellent for that money, wonder if 27s would fit?

Same here, with latex tubes too. Great tyres. I tried a 27mm on the back of my CR1 on some Zonda's - was a touch too tight unfortunately. Might get one for the front though

    No
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles
  • I've got those open paves, came on some 2nd hand wheels I bought. LBS (sigma sport) told me they haven't been available to buy for 3 years?! So these wiggle ones must be really old stock?

Of course it depends on your wheels but in my experience i'd say no, 25c are really tight on my with Ultegra and Superstar wheelsets

27s don't look that different to the 25s on my Giant SLR01 wheels, mind you the 27s have gone straight on to my new Look 785 Huez so no idea if they'd have fit on the TCR.
Now I now they fit on the Look ok I'll certainly be stockpiling, don't last that long but lovely while they do.

Wiggle / Chain Reaction now have the Tacx Neo Smart Turbo Trainer reduced to £799.99.

Obviously they're clearing them out as the Neo 2 is now out.
