I could live with non-matching colour cranks for saving £140 over what I paid last spring!

    Please make it go away!

I've never wanted a power meter, partly because I don't train / race, and partly because I know I'd be disappointed to actually know how little power I generate, and how even that is declining as I age.

But I do like a bargain, and whichever way you look at that it's a bargain...

Cheap women's winter jersey from Galibier who I'm a fan of generally:

Only issue, the vomit inducing pattern on the back.

Me too, but I don't need it, you don't need it, been cycling all these years without one, I mean it would be nice to see how much/little power I am outputting but I am not really that bothered to sink even £175 on it. I prefer to buy some clothing, or a holiday, etc... Incidentally I am going to the Alps in late May for a cycle holiday and that is going to cost me roughly £200! Each to their own of course.

What size do you need? I have 2 vittoria 700x18-23 with presta valves that I want to get rid off as I don't have a bike for them anymore. Would you be interested?

Similar question about tyres. Any good deals about for something reasonably nippy in 700c, preferably 27 or 28 wide?

My cube has vitorria pave 27's on at the moment which I've really enjoyed, but they have worn relatively quickly and last weeks puncture by large screw has left a hole that the replacement tube is starting to bulge through.

Been wanting to try conti gp 4000s ii for a while in 28c. Is £30 each as good as these are likely to get?

IME if you're looking for a 28mm Conti GP 4k, buy the 25mm version - they're super wide. Brilliant tyres though, apart from the weak sidewalls (two failures last year!).

Schwalbe ones for £25? Better sidewalls than the GP4000 although allegedly worse wet weather performance.

    I'm running these in 700x28 on my winter bike - https://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-prime ... road-tyre/

Perfect for winter - had one puncture in 2400km of wet commuting over the past few months, hardly any evidence of cuts or wear to the tyres.

They don't roll quite so well as some of the prior mentioned tyres but for the money they're quality.

I've only ever tried Conti tyres once, the GP4000s and had a sidewall bubble bulge out within the first few days of using them. Went back to my Rubino Pros.

I use Rubino Pros on my Genesis for wet / gritty / suspicious weather. Wanted something a little plusher for my Cube which I use on nice days. The Schwalbes look interesting might try those at that price.

edit: Having said that Rubino Pros are good and they are currently £10 here: https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/vit ... -prod31765?

Might just stick with that! Could get 5 for the price of 2 Schwalbes

Good spot! Just ordered a pair. My GP4S are doing their usual crazy paving type cracking which is usually a precursor to the tread giving up the ghost, and I can't bring myself to spend what Conti now charge.

My Contis have been amazing. The Schwalbe One are nice, but make sure you get the ones with V Guard otherwise it's puncture city.

Just got a Rapha Classic Rain Jacket II from ChainReactionCycles for £80 - not cheap but £100 off full price.
They're half price in the sale, then another £10 off with their current January offer.

I’ve just bought this, it’s not cycling specific however it’ll go in one of my many bags as a back up.
It fits nicely and doesn’t bunch up when you assume the position!

I got mine delivered to my local Asda for 99p.

That's ideal, especially for the winter bike!

Same sizing with GP4Seasons, had a sidewall split on me mid-commute Friday and couldn't trust it to survive the return journey so called my Dad and he came into work with a 25c Gatorskin as a get me home tyre and that was a lot narrower than the 25c GP4Season it replaced.

Pondered on this one overnight for myself, because it would mean having to buy a set of 3-bolt pedals, but now size 43 out of stock.

Not in my experience - I have run GP4000S 25mm front and GP4S 28mm rear for about 5 years - there is maybe 1mm difference between the two.

My 25mm GP4S always seem pretty true to size. GP4000 and Michelin Pro4 SC 25s come up a lot bigger IME

I've got the MTB version of these and found they come up a little big, and are quite wide. Might be worth trying the 42's and returning them if too small?
