Pondered on this one overnight for myself, because it would mean having to buy a set of 3-bolt pedals, but now size 43 out of stock.
I've got the MTB version of these and found they come up a little big, and are quite wide. Might be worth trying the 42's and returning them if too small?

    Sounds a good idea.

I nearly bought the MTB version around Xmas and measured my feet and I'm right on the sizing borderline at 27.3mm in bare coldish feet, so I figured with wearing a pair of Woolie Boolies I'd probably need the 43s, especially if by some miracle my feet got warm and expanded a little!

It doesn't help that I do wonder if I'd really choose to go out on the Cube in the winter months in sub +5C conditions, even if I bought some "winter" shoes, due to all the grit and grime on the roads up in the South Downs at this time of year... Especially when I have the turbo to jump on.

It's then further complicated because these Northwaves are supposed to be ok to approx +15C, but in the prolonged heatwave last summer it reached approx +32C during the midday sun for hours... And I keep looking at the red https://www.merlincycles.com/shimano-rc ... 01523.html to replace my nearly 13 year old pair of Shimano SH-M121Gs that are now starting to show some wear after the last two years of regular use.

But spending ~£200 on two pairs of bike shoes plus a set of 3-bolt pedals (I like the look of the https://www.merlincycles.com/time-xpro- ... 12782.html but they just gone up £7 in the last week) makes my virtual wallet scream... Life is very complicated!

Ok, so it's in silver, but absolute bargain

I'd been mulling over one of these from PBK at a knock down price in December, but "held fast" for reasons, plus I think they only had black at the time and I actually wanted silver...

    Today, I succumbed.

Mainly for the novelty of gathering data into TrainerRoad's analytics. What with £7.50 cashback from TCB* thrown in for good measure, that works out at not a bad price at all.

A few decent tyre offers in the Cycle Surgery sale...

Conti GP Attack 2 tyre for £13.50 (basically a "front specific" GP4000S2 in 22mm)
Specialized S works Turbo 24mm for £17.10 (not cottons)
    Schwalbe Duranos for £17.10
Michelin Power Comp 25mm for £22.50
    Bontrager R4 Aero 22mm for £22.50

Apply the Extra 10 code to get 10% off the sale price to get those prices. There is a 5% topcashback too, and you might get the £2.50 TCB bonus if you sign up and are lucky.

Couldn't resist a pair of Power comps and an Attack for the front of my TT bike out of that list.

    Thanks for those links, BTR!

Apparently, Sorpasso 2's can be gotten for £80, making them quite attractive. Is the fit of those similar to the Castelli Omloops? L in Omloops is fine , but on the racy side, and I'm in love with that pad. Mrs Haggis is away next week, so I could, ehem, get an unexpected delivery...

Not directly answering your question, but I have Small Omloops and Small Sorpasso 1's, and find the fit once on, very similar, although the Sorpasso 1 material has less give in it than the Omloops, which are very stretchy imho, so they require more skill to lever myself into them, but once on just as comfy.

The Progetto X2 pad is a thing of wonder eh, right up there with the best of them imho.

Dan i dont think you're best placed to offer sizing advice matey, with all due respect you have some weird body fit going on matey.

No ONE ever squeezes into a small castelli anything

Ribble now have a code for 35% off clearance bikes. Meaning, for example, that you can get the Ribble Sportive Racing Green in size XL with a full Ultegra R8000 groupset for £674.35 delivered.

Harsh! And I wasn't offering sizing advice per se, more giving info on how I find the two garments compare sizing wise.
I just wish they made xs jerseys, their *small ones are now too flappy for me :(
    Hence my defection to Ale.

*perhaps not right now, but by July they will be.

Just ordered some blaze items from Morvelo. Not sure I have ever ordered from them before, so thought it worth the punt.

Ls jersey, arm and knee warmers, mesh ss base layer.
    https://www.morvelo.com/searchanise/result?q=Blaze

These are the layers of bass, in limited sizes, £50 down to £20.

Think they have a general sale on too.

Have been waiting for a real deal since my Cube was stolen in the summer! Have just pulled the trigger on this.

8.5kg. Built with the new Ultegra, for that money seems a bit too good to be true! The cheapest i can find the groupset for sale is £570!

Doesn't surprise me, lots of their components sale stuff in recent months listed very little or no stock at all.

Ended up buying a Mavic skullcap that I didn't need for £10, hopefully it'll be thin enough to sit under my helmet and I'll work out how to deal with my riding glasses when I get it this week.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Ahhhhh. I hope i don't get the same message. Which bike did you go for?

I went for the Sportive Ultegra in XL, but also considered the SL 105. If my order gets cancelled i'm going to be pretty peeved!

(Also, when did you place your order?)

I ordered a Gran Fondo hydro disc, I got an email from them yesterday saying they have managed to find me a frame, probably from the skip outside, needless to say I'll be checking it thoroughly when I pick it up!

Nice one. I haven’t had a call yet so am hoping it’s all going through nicely.

Hope your bike is all you need it to be! There were some truly stonking deals on offer over the weekend and I’m glad I didn’t wait til Monday to get the boss’s sign-off. My choice was unavailable by Mon morning.

Have just informed Mrs Totale about this as they're basically giving away womens gear in the outlet sale.
