From using mine this week I would say the same.....on the longer intervals its very good but does take 2-3 seconds to ramp up
Have done a few short intervals on it and i didnt find it to bad to be honest, it does allow you to ramp up your effort instead of hitting a brick wall0 -
fair price for those using wider tyres this time of year..(i must have washed 2lb of crap of my bike after yesterdays ride )..a 5% discount code popped up for me..so £11.39 delivered

I don't think it's as bad as people are making it out to be, or they possible have issues with the data transfer between the trainer and the ant+ source.
2-3 seconds isn't really that bad, even on a 20 second interval. In Shane @ Lamma labs review the power graph looked pretty much spot on all the way along, including shorter 20 second intervals...
I got a call to say it's in store now, so I think I might got for it and if I don't like it I'll just return it or sell it on at a profit. I think I would definitely be able to sell a lightly used Drivo for more than £450!0 -

You've missed the Direto deal (unless you want to pay £1000 for one!
Flux is good for the price, i'd probably hang on (unless you really need a new trainer soon) incase there are any further deals in the run up to Xmas.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -

this forum has really peaked in the mamil stakes, £1000 for a turbo trainer is insane and when it dropped to £500 ish that's not much better.

Actually that does remind me, I'm doing recovery training now so started using my Tacx software again instead of bashing ut netflix box sets and since i used it at the beginning of the year they now also have some live flyby style routes on the free version. I did the central park route at the weekend and a couple of power ramps FOC.

And the fancy fan, and the fancy fork adapter that makes you go up and down hills, and then learning how to build your own rocker plate (or waiting for the Cyclops one to be released for around 500 quid!).0 -

The fancy mat, sweat thong, dedicated wheel/ tyre/ bike, apple dongle to connect to fancy 40" 4k tv.
Is it just my mate who's kitted out a bedroom like that only to discover he doesn't like the turbo much so doesn't bother?0 -

Cheaper alternatives are available of course - My mat is a £10 pack of rubbery floor tiles from Halfords, and an old hand towel draped over the bars and top tube catches the sweat very effectively.
Junior loves it - her club do weekly coached group rides on Zwift...Pannier, 120rpm.0 -

Precisely.
Yep I have those as well, they were 2 packs for £18 IIRC, we have a pair of turbos on them - alas out in the garage, so pretty bloody cold at the moment.
I have a large screen laptop, old and worth not very much, a marginally damaged (otherwise perfect) Dell 22" monitor off of the bay of e, for something like £30, and 3 (three) fans - I rarely use all 3, more for if both of us want to turbo simultaneously. I us TR but have a subscription to BigringVR - not used it an age though, should give it a go and see what has changed, they are, or were, developing it constantly.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

Does that look like the 2019 model in cycle republic? The blurb attached certainly looks that way?0 -

Ours is in a boarded-in loft, making for a very efficient use of space, with one bike on the turbo in the middle, where there's standing headroom, and a couple of others, including my TT bike, tucked under the eaves; we even have a Velux window that can be opened while pedalling.
I have to admit to having gone the whole hog, so we have a Tacx Neo and 28" 4k monitor. I have a paid-for Zwift subscription, which means Junior's is free. It's sufficiently engaging that I actually look forward to doing a session almost as much as a real ride (often choose it instead of a real ride in Winter, when it can get 6-7 hours of use a week). Particularly good for WFH days; I can get a decent ride in at lunchtime whilst keeping an eye on my email, and be back at my desk within seconds if something urgent crops up.
We also have a set of rollers in the loft. Turns out that Zwift on rollers is actually quite hard - I have yet to ride the S-bends in Watopia without falling off - so they don't get much use...Pannier, 120rpm.0 -

I wish I could train in the cold, I've just had to endure ~26C while getting a brief session in the kitchen before dinner!================

I read that as minus 26c initially, I thought that you were living in the antartic or something!
And yes, true enough, cold is preferable - my garage can be +40 in the summer too.
Only mental barrier to get over in the depths of winter is getting all togged up with bibtights etc, just to go to the garage, seems a bit counter intuitive.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

You don't need bibtights to turbo in a garage. You've no wind over the legs to chill them.
I just put on a nice thick Aldi cycling jacket, shorts and base and march out to the garage. It's chilly to begin with but within a very short while the jacket comes off and I turn on the fans to cool me down. If you get remote controlled switches its a big help with the fans.
Don't forget a towel and water - and if you dont need the towel you're not working hard enough.0 -

Have you been watching me do turbo sessions??? .....If it's really cold don't put fan on for 1st few minutes.
Back to trainerroad for me now. Yes. Zwift is great but I like watching stuff on youtube, iPlayer, etc and let erg mode do it's business.0 -
