used the 10% off from BC at Halfords on a £280 piii power meter, only because I was also given a £25 gift card. £227 for a left only power meter seems reasonable.....Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.

Bargain pointer, please.
Looking for a simple (and cheap) turbo trainer - not internet enabled - any suggestions for either new or what to watch out for s/h on eBay. Would £50 get me anything that will work for a month or so?

£50 will get you this: https://www.halfords.com/cycling/turbo-trainers/trainers/bikehut-turbo-trainer
Also where abouts you based, it might give someone a way of getting rid of the 1 in the cupboard that’s not been used for 5 years :oops:0 -

Back in 2006, I bought an Elite Mag Volaire(?) turbo around the same time I bought my old Felt F5C, it was mind-numbingly dull... It maybe got 20 uses over the following ~9 years!
Now I didn't touch it at all during from early April until late October, but the two-way interaction of my Elite Direto bought last Xmas has had loads of use. In my opinion, it really is worth spending the extra to buy something like https://www.halfords.com/cycling/turbo- ... bo-trainer , which you could have bought for ~£160 yesterday on Ebay's 15% off promo.
You don't have to spend out on Zwift to get good use out of a two-way turbo, when their are several similar apps in beta this winter, albeit without the multiplayer races. Earlier, I was on RoadGrandTour's Stelvio Pass again https://www.strava.com/activities/2042537104/analysis , doing a few power intervals by switching between 34/32 and ~34/18 while the turbo simulated the gradient changes (the pass averages ~10% but varies from approx 3-20% through the route).
Besides commutes, you could probably count the number of outdoor rides I've down since November on one hand, but I've been on the turbo for approx 30-120min sessions something like every other day.
If I had to generate anything like ~400W on a basic turbo, by using the 50T chainring and my smallest sprockets, my downstairs neighbours would be smashing our flat door down to lynch me!================

Aldi have this for £25. I've no idea if it's any good, the reviews are mixed.

Perfect! In the basket and off to get the credit card; much obliged to you. Looks identical to the BikeHut one (and a few others at a similar price on Amazon).
Now to find a cheap 26” slick for the rear wheel, as it’s an MTB with knobblies.Location: ciderspace0 -

Curiosity question: British Cycling membership discount at Halfords, since it changed T&Cs a few months ago. As an example, https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/ ... -20-frames is reduced in current promo to £350.
Can BC card holders still "click & collect," show their BC card with their 2d code and buy this bike for £315?================

It depends on the store.
The BC t&c's state it can't be used with any other offer/ on sale items etc. However, in the summer I tried it on some reduced items at my local halfords and they refused. I drove a few miles to the next store to try again and they gave me the BC discount. So depends on the branch and staff I guess.

I tried in store yesterday, buying a Thule rack - as it had been price matched already they wouldn't give me the BC discount. Gave it to me on the adapter kit and the SKS Raceblade's I bought for my SO's bike though. Usually just your luck I've found.0 -
Synthe for £59 if you need a small it's a non mips, but a good price none the less. Still my favourite helmet for fit and looks.

Looking for links for womens Cannondale Synapse.
Anything recent?
I got mine from hargroves Ooop North. had a couple of problems concerning how it was delivered. No Di2 charger, one of the discs was so bent couldn't put wheel on. All sorted no problem, but it was sent as if there was no care at all.Superstition sets the whole world in flames; philosophy quenches them.
