£31.49 before 10% BC discount seems pretty decent, especially for the 28mm version...

But is this the old model? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/cont ... -prod18794 for example, has a slightly different model name and is £35.27

Do 4 Season inflate wider than their spec size on modern wider rims, so ~31mm for 700x28s, just like GP4000S IIs?

I have always found that my 28mm 4 seasons are almost the same width as my 25mm 4000S - maybe 1mm in it but not much more than that. I think the 4000S are wide for their stated size, but the 4 seasons are not.

Order placed after 20:00 on Saturday, free delivery, despatched that night, and they tried to deliver it Sunday morning

Wouldn't mind one of these, but even at that price it's ridiculous. Looks worth about £30 tops.

It may look like that, but any of the reviews will reveal the fact it is the most waterproof (And with no DWR) and breathable jacket out there, they love it, and reckon it is worth every penny, and that's at full price!

I've the 1985, and while obvs waterproof, breathability isn't brilliant. It is boil in a bag a bit and I open the zip to cool down, which is a shame as defeats the object. Jacket would get much more use if better in that dept. It probably is one of the best of its type though. I wear in persistent rain otherwise I go Perfetto. Could work better on someone else though, just my own experience.

I have one and can confirm it is fantastic. Fits in a jersey pocket so you can use like an emergency rain cape. But it is the most waterproof jacket I have ever owned, worn in 3 hour rides with persistent rain and nothing comes through, yet still breathable. Amazing looking at the rain beading up and rolling off, you can literally see it doing its job.

What's not to like, other than the price?

I got mine for £104 (the older 1985) but this is the cheapest I've seen yet for the hi viz, by some distance.

I did buy the original version from Blacks I think it was, but really wanted the high viz version, so took it back.
£145 is still a little too much for me - if I had been able to use BC discount on top, then I would have nabbed one I think.

I've had loads of gear sold as 'waterproof' over the years, but the shakedry is literally the only product that has delivered. Expensive at full price, but even then justifiable if you ride all year round. No reproofing required, packable. It's a brilliant bit of kit.

Is it too early to tell how long the shakedry will last?

So probably a bit soon then ...

Luckily it's not judged on how it looks as it looks a lot like a grey binbag. But it's kept me dry on a four hour wet ride, and packs down to easily fit inside a pocket. I think mine was about £100 off list price and well worth it if you want to ride in all weathers. If you don't then buy a £30 jacket and you'll be back within the hour soaked.

I posted about dotout gear from CRC a week or so back, well I have the gear now, and it's REALLY nice quality kit, and a decent fit - slightly smaller than Castelli I would say, and a bit bigger than Ale.

The Legend long sleeve is a bargain, but alas the small was sadly too big for me, so that is going back.

The pure and hybrid (Inspite of the name is a closer cut than the pure) jerseys are really quality kit though, highly recommended.
Some really interesting and different designs imho, aside from the quality of the material being right up there.

  • CRC and Wiggle often have different prices, sometimes they will be cheaper at Wiggle even after taking account of BC discount at CRC.

May be a listing error but the Wiggle page only says QR axles are "in the box", no mention of the TA adaptors that are normally bundled with them. Only need QR on my CR1 though...tempted  . In the market for carbon disc wheels really, so will need to pass....
