This seems like a good deal for a full crankset with power meter. 51/30 isn't ideal though. How do I work out whether this would work with my bottom bracket?
In my opinion. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -

It might not be the the lightest of these three bikes, but £630 with BC for a 105 hydraulic road bike... Almost worth buying just for the components!
Any ideas ..the weight of these bikes0 -
Surely it's a typo (although it is twice). You can only have a 16 tooth gap can you not? The inner ring pictured was a 46(!)0

In my opinion.
Most (double) front mechs are designed for a max 16 tooth difference hence the common 50/34, 52/36 and 53/39 combos. Even if the mech copes, I think 51/30 would be practically unrideable.
My triple has 50/39/30 rings which is a smaller overall range. Can't imagine it without the middle ring. Occasionally I've accidentally gone from 50 to 30, and it's like the chain's just snapped and I'm suddenly spinning like a hamster.0 -
Looking on their website they don't even do a 31...
http://rotorbike.com/catalog/default/rotor/rotor/chainrings/noq.html
Will contact SP now to see!
EDIT: It is a 50/34, they have now changed it on the website. Very tempted.Canyon Ultimate CF Disc

Good deal indeed. I'd cast an eye over at Power2Max, good deals on the "old" type s, particularly if you already have a compatible crank/rings. FSA Powerbox alloy is around this price, too, but it's hefty and you're tied to their proprietary rings. That rotor will work with any 5 bolt rings, so you're elected.
I jumped for a Powerbox early after release for £400, and beyond those niggles, it's about the best money I've ever spent to make me faster. So much so I eventually lumped money for the (functionally identical) P2M NGEco for the good bike.0 -
One word of warning, that Rotor power meter is left-side only rather than the dual sided power reading you might expect from a crank power meter.
For dual sided on rotor you need the 2inpower.0 -

hardly the lighthouse of Alexandria but less than £12 delivered..the mount is the caveat..i use the 700 lumen version to commute with no problems, though i believe the lights are go pro style mount compatible so that may be a solution if the mount is duff.

THat's not a bad shout, but i think the ION ARC 650 for £18 is potentially also a good shout, as long as you don't mind the potential reliabilty problem according to some of the reviews ( ie using it as a second light)Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

Windproof wool jacket half price at £125 too. All sizes. I've no idea if it's a good cycling jacket, but looks like quite a nice wool jacket generally. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Not a bargain in its own right, but could be a useful way to finance an e-bike or two, if you live in Scotland.

Muc off dry lube £3.99 for the 120 ml bottle at Halfords: https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-m ... cant-120ml
Amazon had it at the same price as an add-on item but I couldn't find anything else that wasn't cheaper at CRC etc.
10% off with BC card at Halfords - although the guy on the till said they were stopping the discount soon on stuff already discounted online. May be BS.0 -
Anyone bought https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-p ... -tyre-700c recently from Halfords and can tell me/us what size they are?
If they are 700x28s, think I'm going to hit the trigger, ~£27.90 each with BC discount looks worth a first punt at these "premium" winter tyres.
30% off some clothing before BC discount, yet to spot any specific deals https://www.halfords.com/cycling/cycling-clothing================

LOL, I've looked at that page many times over the last week and I'm used to seeing that size drop-down window on their tyres... But not once have I seen in on the 4-seasons!
I really am in the land of the fairies recently, wandering round stuck in neutral at best.
