  • Some very big savings on Storck bikes and kit because they're changing UK supplier. Although, big is relative given the starting price tag.

Except the reeds are contained within a sealed glass envelope. More likely the reed switch actually cracks (and fails) or the crud build up eventually makes a second (bypass) conduction path and the state of the reed switch is immaterial.

    Yes - I bookmarked this years ago: http://forums.roadbikereview.com/compon ... 97618.html

I think this is why the speed sensor goes more than the cadence sensor because sometimes it gets banged by the spokes and the envelope cracks, letting moisture in at best, terminally obstructing the reeds at worst.

Castelli Potenza jersey as reviewed by BTR here: https://roubaixcycling.cc/2017/02/14/castelli-potenza-long-sleeve-jersey/

Merlin have them down from £175 to £99 in two colours, the blue that BTR reviewed, and the Mirage that I think is lovely.
LOVE10 (Valid until tomorrow) chops 10% off once you have logged in, and if you go through TCB that lops another 3.45 or 5.75% off too.
    https://www.merlincycles.com/castelli-potenza-fz-cycling-jersey-2016-94943.html

Currently available in Medium all the way through to 2XL in both the Blue as in the review, and in the swoonworthy Mirage..

Bizarrely the pic they show is not one of the colours they currently have in stock.

Here is the Mirage - LOVE that yellow zip 8)

Just had a look at a Castelli Raddoppia jersey at Merlin (down to 49.99, and again in Mirage with a flouro zip) but got a messge to say the LOVE10 code wasn't valid against that item. Their email did say it applies "to 99% of stock". Shame, but like the look of the Potenza at that discount...though note BTR thought the Potenza sized up a little large.

  • I'm going to get a large in Mirage to see if I prefer the sizing to the XL.

    ...and bang on cue

EDIT: having read BTR's review on the Potenza, and the thinking of new/old solutions applied to cycling clothing, I wondered if anyone has been using this. I thought it might be good when proper cold? 117 quid at Tredz, with another £5 off:

    Were you logged in?
I had that issue until I logged on.

Darn, just tried it and had the same. Wonder why this jersey is not eligible but the Potenza is. Maybe percentage of discount already applied?

Just added both into the basket, the code only takes 10% off the Potenza.

Can anyone clarify.? Is this the Gabba/perfetto LS jersey by another name? If so, it seems a reasonable buy.

It is indeed, and was posted a few pages back - shame you missed Tredz who had the Perfetto LS for £95 last week in a variety of colours, including the virtually edible Mirage flavour, which looks better than this in the flesh as it were.

*I sent mine back though, as the M was a tad too big, and it didn't give me anything over what I have already, by jove it looked good though. Had I ordered the right size, it probably would have stayed

Ok. Ordered one of these from Merlin now. Not too upset about missing the Tredz deal as I got it for £89.95 with the Valentine's day 10% off.

Fairplay Semantik, sure it will serve you well.

Not a fan of red, but my bro is (and he has a red Caad 3), so ordered this for him as a present. £90 down to £36.
And he's quite a good hillclimber.

I really do like that Morvelo jersey but the linguistic pedant in me is preventing a purchase... it's been a while since French GCSE but I'm pretty sure it should be chasseur des cols rather than de cols. Yes, I know I need to get out more!

In other news, Rutland Cycling have some Giant Liv and Exteondo bib-shorts for the ladies heavily discounted...

Get that wallet out - morvelo are correct; and it is really nice kit

« Il était comme moi grand chasseur, chasseur de tigres dans les jungles » Gide 1895 This is the example of usage of the word chasseur given in here http://www.cnrtl.fr/definition/chasseur which I believe is definitive

Indeed that is one example, and further down the same page one finds "4. C'est un animal chasseur des autres insectes, très-ardent et très-meurtrier, pourvu d'armes admirables, ... Michelet, L'Insecte,1857, p. 193."

Am fairly sure that a plural noun generally has a plural wotsit before it, my sister (who got As @ A-level in French, Spanish & German) says so too so there...:lol:

Ah, the nuances of language eh? Turns out that it can be either de or des depending on whether one is referring to cols in general or some cols in particular. So, where's my wallet? :D

I think Gabba 2s are widely being sold around the £80 mark, Rutland Cycling are too but SAVE5 gets another fiver off and if you can find something else to get your basket to >£100 then SAVE15 gets £15 off.

That makes sense - and Morvelo is nice kit even if the sizing is a bit odd

This is just a joke now, can't put anything into my basket at all. Page fails to open just as at the previous sale , size guide and product size selection doesn't work.
I sent them an email at the sale before with the list of items I wanted and they confirmed it it will be OK. Three days and three phone calls later they cancelled my order. Don't think I'll bother ever again, possibly if they do another sample sale in a physical location.
Also anyone successful just be mindful that these garments are prototypes/previous models and a sizing can vary.

I managed to get on with Chrome but couldn't get anything to go in my basket....loaded up with internet explorer and was no issue what so ever.

To be fair, unless your massive, or tiny there isn't a great deal to get excited about. I nearly bought one of their long sleeve jersey's but to be honest, i told myself i didn't need it and also, i bought the Fortress jersey in the last sale and whilst the jersey is absolutely excellent...the pockets are a little small. Looking at the long sleeve jersey, they seem to be a similar size so i think i will leave it
