Another Vulpine sample sale, another annoying shopping experience!

This is just a joke now, can't put anything into my basket at all. Page fails to open just as at the previous sale , size guide and product size selection doesn't work.
I sent them an email at the sale before with the list of items I wanted and they confirmed it it will be OK. Three days and three phone calls later they cancelled my order. Don't think I'll bother ever again, possibly if they do another sample sale in a physical location.
Also anyone successful just be mindful that these garments are prototypes/previous models and a sizing can vary.

I had to change browser from Chrome to Firefox to put things in the basket...
  • I managed to fill my basket with items in IE, it works fine!
One question to anyone owned or tried on the Men's Jinzu Raw Selvedge Jean: what is the waist size for the medium ones?
I have trouble finding the correct fit...

Ha! Before I read the posts following on from this one, I had already decided I was going nowhere near this
    Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06
    Scott CR1 SL 12
    Cannondale Synapse Adventure 15 & 16 Di2
    Scott Foil 18
  • I don't want to jinx it but I had no issues with the Vulpine site this time round - everything went through smoothly.

Which reminds me - I've still got stuff from the last sale that I need to return.
  • Super cheap Fizik saddles on cycle republic.

Nice one SB, let me know what you make of it please :-)

    Will do.

Got this Jersey in the post today. It's typical morvelo, good quality material, zips and pockets. The print is ace too. Sizing is true too. Absolute bargain all things considered.

Thankyou SB, that sounds good - my brother's has arrived at my work, but I won't be in until Thursday now.
Sounds like it should be a good buy for him.
He's probably 39" chest, and I went for a medium, sound ok?

To keep the bargain theme going, and so no one gets upset, I spotted, and ordered some of these:
    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/diadora-uniquefit-insole/rp-prod52724
    prod52724_IMGSET?wid=500&hei=505

£28 down to £8 - I see in the reviews some people say you need to know how to heat them to shape them, does anyone have any tips, or should I just google?

As it did for me the other day when I placed an order, order received, confirmation of payment etc, right up to the 'we have cancelled your order' email I received just now. Third consecutive Vulpine order cancelled (two direct thru Vulpine, one via Sportspursuit) because they had oversold/didn't take track of stock (not exactly rocket science). Total waste of space company.

"Don't be silly son, you're a bloke, you'll never grow up"
  • The SP cancellation is odd. Most things are showing as shipping today so in stock. I'd push them on what's going on there.

I have to say, the sheer size and frequency of the reductions makes me unlikely to ever buy from Vulpine.

Not having a go, but surely going from experience having Vulpine sale items cancelled is hardly a shock. I've never ordered myself, but having read about the problems last time I didn't even consider visiting their site this time round.
  • It's not a shock, just shoddy CS that you'd thought they'd have sorted out by now after previous fsck-ups. My fault for giving them another chance, won't be doing so in future. At least SP gave me a voucher to make up for the problem when I ordered through them.

Anybody seen a good deal on Edge 820? Looking for less than Cycle Republic + BC 10% of £300. Have all the bugs been sorted or are bugs a Garmin standard feature you can't get rid of?
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • Unit only or the HRM/Speed/cadence bundle?

I've found schwalbe ones a bit loose at the rear tbh. I don't think I'll be going for them again. Gp4000 for me next time. But then I'll probably see the prices and get something else.

i have to hand it to conti I dont like the road feel with 4000s but they are very strong and once scrubbed in have a good amount of grip, i'd rate them over hardshells and gatorskins but just below the discontinued GP

If they won't, pretty sure Wiggle will, plus you can still get 3.45% (?) cashback through tcb. And if not, apparently Evans will pricematch over the phone.

    Bontrager Bat Cage
Only bottle cage I've ever had that kept a secure hold on my bottle on any terrain, including 3 Peaks. Very popular with Classics riders (I first tried one after I saw Spartacus using them).
    Pannier, 120rpm.

Planet X are usually fairly good for cheap cages:
    http://www.planetx.co.uk/c/q/accessorie ... =price-asc

Buy the ones that will look nice on your bike and don't look like they'll throw your bottle at the first bump.

Very little point going weight weenie, even cheap cages are usually very light.
